The construction of the Madrid Río park and the burying of the M30 have restored its splendor to this bridge, which is a jewel of the Spanish Renaissance.

The Segovia bridge was built by the same architect as the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial under the reign of Philip II in the 16th century. The ponds that were built where the M30 used to pass are home to native aquatic fauna and flora. The reflection of the Palacio de Oriente and the Almudena Cathedral in the water creates a perfect scene to immortalize with a photo.

Beautiful after the creation of Madrid Río.
Its construction was ordered by Felipe II to his favorite architect, Juan de Herrera, author of the Monastery of El Escorial and the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, among other buildings. The works, which had a budget of 200,000 ducats, lasted between 1582 and 1584.
