Balingen's striking eye-catcher is the Zollern Castle with the "Rider House" and the "Water Tower". The original Zollernschloss had three other corner towers in addition to the water tower.

Due to dilapidation, the old castle was completely demolished in 1935 and rebuilt by 1937 using old building components in accordance with the old model.

Today the building houses the Museum of Scales and Weights.
