Where today the drip fountain, created by Horst Engelhardt in 1988 by Horst Engelhardt, addresses the history of Bad Freienwald in front of the town hall, there has been a Red Army victory memorial since 1947. It literally stood in the way of the expansion of the market planned during the GDR era. The Russians are said to have given permission to demolish the monument after an evening drink 😊. As a precaution, the dismantling should have started at night.

The market fountain: The fountain is also called the drip fountain. It was created by the artist Horst Engelhardt from Eichwerder, a master student of Werner Stötzer. The fountain was erected in 1988. The fountain consists of a bowl with a bronze column on which a bather sits.
