The Gustav-Adolf-Stave Church is a stave church in the Goslar district of Hahnenklee-Bockswiese in the Harz Mountains. The building is a free replica of Borgund stave church.

Stave churches (mast churches) are churches made of wood that can only be found in Scandinavia - and in the Harz Mountains. The Gustav Adolf stave church in Hahnenklee is a free replica of the Borgund stave church, very well preserved and definitely worth a visit. You can find the opening times at: stabkirche.de.
There is also a second stave church in the Harz Mountains, the stave church in Stiege. However, it stands abandoned in a small Harz forest and is now being relocated and brought to the place due to break-ins and destruction.
