This track heads up the route of an old water pipeline along side the Waitawheta River. Is has some amazing views of rock climbing crags. The climbs give a dramatic view over the river and if you climb they are well recommended... the Shield Wall and the Back of Beyond... and the tallest of them, Shadowfax. The walk heads up to near Dickey Flat. This is walk access only.

NOTE: The tag is located in the wrong location. Access to the Pipeline Track is from the parking area at Karangahake, the confluence of the Ohinemuri River and Waitawheta River, and heads up along the Waitawheta River edge.
