It flows as the only outflow of Lake Todos los Santos after 36 km in a wide delta into the Reloncaví fjord. Despite its short length of only 36 km, the mean discharge is relatively high at 278 m³ / s.
About 6 km after the river leaves the lake, it falls over some basalt cliffs in several thresholds, a total of over 20 m. In the upper reaches, the river has usually cut deeply into the volcanic deposits, so that many sections of the river are limited by steep bank slopes and are difficult to access. (Wikipedia).
