NEPOMUK THE BRIDGE HOSPITAL AND PATRON OF THE SECURITY. In 1370 John Nepomuk lived as a cleric in Prague. He was ordained a priest in 1380. He studied at the Law School of Prague. He was also in Padua and then again as vicar in Prague.
One day when he refused to break the confessional secret to King Wenceslas, who wanted to know what his wife had entrusted to him, he was executed. A cleric was drowned at that time.
Nepomuk was thrown from the Charles Bridge in Prague into the Vltava.
