The former noble family on the Hofmark Birnbach built a small church in the valley about 3 km southwest of Erlbach as early as 1484. In the second half of the 17th century there was a structural change that gave the church its present form.

The popularly called "Kroahäusl" chapel with a "Heilbrünnl" is located about 80 meters from the Birnbacher church, idyllic on the edge of a forest. Numerous votive offerings testify to a pilgrimage lasting for centuries.

The chapel has a long history as a pilgrimage church; In its present form, it was rebuilt in 1972 in collaboration between the parish and the landowners Franz and Anna Strasser and inaugurated on October 28, 1973.

This place of pilgrimage is always accessible, the sanctuary with the miraculous image of the "Madonna coronata" and the votive offerings are protected by a grid.

Noteworthy is the design of the tower, which is unique in the wide surroundings. The church is dedicated to St. Florian and St. Nicholas. These are shown on the lateral parts of the neo-Gothic winged altar.
