BAM! Campfire - Share the road

Road Cycling Collection by BAM! Bicycle Adventure Meeting

Living the BAM!, the European meeting of bicycle travelers, for the first time in Campfire edition, means first of all getting there by bike, perhaps meeting other travelers on the street. Here we share the tracks of some groups that will leave from Italy and not only to get to the BAM! pedaling. Share your journey with us.

Expert gravel ride. Very good fitness required. Some portions of the Tour may be unpaved and difficult to ride.

Route from Mantua to Verona mostly flat except for some ups and downs on the Morainic Hills.
Technically and physically easy path that has many sections NOT asphalted (especially in the first part, up to Custoza) therefore smooth but not very fast.
Attention point at km 33.8 where for 100 meters you pass on the SP 24, with an entrance to which you must pay close attention.
From Verona to the Lausen Refuge the route becomes technically and physically much more demanding.
Here are some details of the more "insidious" parts:
    - from km 67.6 to km the "little Stelvio": uphill on a series of hairpin bends on gravel-rough ground with slopes often higher than double digits, the following km on asphalt continue with demanding but technically more pedalable slopes
    - from km 72.9 to km 75.4 uphill with challenging slopes on VERY bumpy ground (also due to the rains that dig the ground) (pay attention to the barbed wire that delimits the road laterally)
    - from km 85.8 to km 86.9 uphill with challenging slopes in a very dense undergrowth, possibility of slippery ground in case of rain or humidity - uneven ground
    - from km 93.2 to km 94 uphill with challenging slopes on uneven ground
    - from km 97 to km 99.4 gravel forest road initially uphill then downhill, very easy technically but pay attention to the gates for containing livestock along the road
    - from km 99.4 to km 99.9 singletrack ups and downs in counter-slope on dirt and grass: be careful in case of wet-slippery surfaces
    - from km 99.9 to km 100.3 descent on a rough / stony surface.
We rode on the course with Gravel Bikes with 42mm, 45mm tires and 32 x 40 as a more agile ratio.

I changed the path, which now intercepts the one proposed by the friends of the BAM! ("Verona al Lausen: easy route on the road") to ride the last 30km together, from the Montorio VR roundabout.

For those who want to travel the length and breadth of the Lessinia plateau, here is a challenging but satisfying track. Along the way there are several huts and refreshment points, of course you can shorten them according to your desire.
