There is no area in Germany that better represents the brewing trade as the region around Franconia and the Upper Palatinate. Countless private breweries are dedicated to the production of that beloved liquid gold and offer you the highest enjoyment and the finest culinary delights.
All of the hikes featured in this Collection are perfectly accessible with the lines of the VGN — after all, you would like to reward yourself with "A Seidla beer". Whether Gräfenbergbahn, Trubachtalexpress or one of the other VGN Leisure Lines: From 1 May to 1 November 2019, the buses and trains of the VGN will provide you with completely stress-free hiking pleasure using sustainable transportation — in some cases even with bike trailers, which will open up even more possibilities for you if you wish. These lines only stop where it is most beautiful and take you quickly and comfortably to the starting points of our beer hikes and back home.
So you can relax and get to the "5 Seidla Steig", the classic beer hike, we have some real insider tips ready for you. The route "Durchs Paradiestal" lives up to its name, while you can hike directly from the large district town of Forchheim into the heart of Franconian Switzerland to Ebermannstadt. As you go, you can enjoy the magnificent views from the Retterner Kanzel before sipping on a fresh Seidla beer in the Reichenberger Keller.
