The sun made it shorter. It was unbelievably hot. Still better than in the city!
This was much cooler today! Quite flat and mostly walking on top of flood banks along the Humber estuary and River Ouse but new places I've never seen. No rain!Next Saturday, unless the weather is very bad, the next leg from Selby to Doncaster.

This was somewhat hard going yesterday despite it being flat (more than usual somehow, I think because a lot of it was on roads and pavements). But the weather was good - not too hot. You will find the report from this walk on my website at: wandering-cloud.co.uk/2020/07/11/wild-yorkshire-way-selby-to-doncasterNext leg (Doncaster to Dodworth SW of Barnsley) on Wednesday. It will be lighter - 20 miles. Then on Sat (all pending good weather, but it's looking ok next week) I'll be entering the Peak District.
It's been tough on my feet of late - boots not as good after those 1,000-miles+ over the last 2 years! A replacement purchased (thanks Klarna, nice not to have to pay for them today).

Just coming back from this one. Started 5.30am, finished 6pm. Lots of walking and somewhat aching feet (this will pass). Incredible views almost all the time!
This was extremely spectacular. Lots completely off grid (no paths) and some in the cloud and lots of bog but beautifully remote. It pays to start walking at 4.30am. SUNRISE.A 4 day holiday starting next weekend on the Dales Way.
One of the best this year. Included a very steep and tough 1 mile 800ft climb after Malham. Spectacular incredible views.
