Light illuminates rocky peaks and early morning mist, highlighting the giant mountains, gentle hills, world-famous royal castles and rivers and lakes which shimmer amongst the lush green meadows like precious stones. On top of the summits, you can enjoy an ultimate sense of freedom, absolute silence, and a spectacular postcard-perfect view, all crowned by a dreamlike fairytale castle.

The Schlossgarten (palace garden) is a crowning jewel in the heart of East Allgäu, a beautiful region in the south of Germany. One of nine of the areas in the Allgäu, the Schlossgarten extends across the Ostallgäu Landkreis. Here, you can visit stunning castles such as Neuschwanstein and Falkenstein, which give the region its name.

The poetic landscape highlights the beauty of the castles, palaces, historic towns, and rustic villages, which each have their own stories to tell. The landscapes and history have been intertwined for many centuries and together for the unique Schlosspark.

In this Collection, we introduce you to this wonderful region. With fantastic castles, beer gardens with panoramic views, picturesque lakes, delicious local cheeses, and monasteries, these Tours seem like they are straight from the pages of a travel brochure. To make your cycling holiday even more special, you will ride along high-quality cycle paths. The ADFC (General German Bicycle Club) has designated the area as a RadReiseRegion thanks to its excellent cycling infrastructure. The 11 routes in this Collection are a dream for cycle tourers and will take you to the most beautiful palaces and castles in the Schlosspark, along the Emmental Cycle Route, and more.

True to its name, this beautiful round takes you through the natural lake landscape typical of the ostallgäu alpine uplands. It passes the Schönewalder Weiher, Grundweiher, Trollweiher and Luimooser Weiher over. Slightly off the trail are still the northern and southern Seeger Lake. After about halfway the Schwaltenweiher invites you to swim and linger. The Kögelweiher is almost an insider tip for nature lovers. Not far away is the Attlesee with swimming.

The castles and palaces - rarely has a tour earned its name as much as this one. Again and again you will pass impressive castles and palaces or enjoy a fantastic view from the bike path. This begins shortly after the start in Füssen, when the view opens onto the Hohe Schloss, the landmark of Füssen's old town. From here, the path leads you to the famous royal palaces Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein - a backdrop, as from the fairy tale.
