With "Zämed duss - together outdoors", three years ago, Tourismus Oberstdorf launched a campaign to promote respectful and tolerant interaction between hikers and cyclists on the jointly used trails and a sustainable approach to nature. Since then, the "Zämed duss Outdoor Festival" has taken place every summer. Guided tours and courses in the fantastic natural landscape as well as a varied supporting programme on the festival grounds in the middle of Oberstdorf ensure that there is no time for boredom. Make a note of the date: In 2020 the "Zämed duss Outdoorfestival" will take place from 2 to 4 October.

Short but powerful: This tour takes you from the Alpe Oberau through the picturesque Traufbach valley to the Traufbachalpe. It often goes uphill steeply. 430 vertical meters to 6.2 kilometers - that's quite a challenge.However, for all the efforts of the driveway, the arrival in the fantastically located basin of the Traufbachtal will reward you. For a stop, the Hintere Traufbergalpe invites you with snacks and homemade cakes.
Hardly any other valley can be compared to the Oytal in terms of versatility. The landscape is characterized by sharp rock walls, where waterfalls roar into the valley, and gentle mountain meadows, on which herds of cattle graze in spring and autumn. Above all of this, majestically the peaks of the Oberstdorf mountains, which are always present on this short tour from Oberstdorf to the Oytal.
The bike tour Oytal (komoot.de/tour/75719967) leads you directly to the starting point of this tour, which is perfect as an extension: At the mountain inn Oytalhaus arrived, you drive over the Gutenalpe and past the Stuibenfall even further up to the Käseralpe.About halfway up the slope, the Stuibenfall provides a little refreshment. The waterfall, which crashes down from the rock walls next to the road, creates a fine mist that refreshes pleasantly on hot days.
From Reichenbach you drive over the parking Gaisalpe on the driveway up to the mountain inn. In numerous bends, the paved road winds for about 2.5 kilometers steeply up the slope. Once at the top you can enjoy the impressive view of the valley or the summit of the Rubihorn while having a break on the terrace of the Gaisalpe Inn.
In the shadow of the Beslermassiv and past idyllic alpine huts: while cycling in the quiet Lochbachtal you can explore the (almost) untouched mountains of Oberstdorf. This tour is a bit longer and you master many meters of altitude - on the way, however, countless viewpoints and idyllic Alps with refreshment stops invite you to take a relaxing break.
