Der Heidschnuckenweg gehört zu den Top Trails of Germany und verbindet die schönsten Heidelandschaften der Nord- und Südheide, die zugleich die größten zusammenhängenden Heideflächen Nordeuropas sind. Er wurde benannt nach einem kleinen und robusten Schaf, der Heidschnucke. In der Lüneburger Heide wird die Graue Gehörnte Heidschnucke auch heute noch als natürlicher Landschaftspfleger gehalten, um die wertvollen Heideflächen zu erhalten.Der Heidschnuckenweg ist ein aus 13 Etappen bestehender Wanderweg mit einer Länge von 223 km und 1.240 Höhenmeter (Aufstieg 1.240 Hm; Abstieg 1.221 Hm). Da an einigen Tagen auch Doppeletappen gut machbar sind, haben wir unsere Wanderung als 9-tägige Tour ausgelegt. Die Wanderung führt von Fischbek am südlichsten Standrand von Hamburg über Buchholz in der Nordheide, Handeloh, Undeloh, Niederhaverbeck, Bispingen, Soltau, Wietzendorf, Müden (Örtze), Faßberg, Oberoher Heide, Weesen, Dehningshof bis zur Residenzstadt Celle.heidschnuckenweg.deUnsere weiteren Collections zu anderen Gebieten findet Ihr unter:

    On day 2 of our hike on the Heidschnuckenweg, we first hike stage 2 from Buchholz in the north heath to Handeloh. Then we extend today's tour by hiking the first part of stage 3 (from Handeloh to Undeloh) to Wesel.The hike initially runs through Buchholz i. d. N. and through a beautiful forest path before we reach the Höllenschlucht after approx. 5 km. Here you shouldn't expect a real gorge, but rather a wide ravine.

    On day 3 we first hike the missing section of stage 3 (Handeloh to Undeloh) from Wesel to Undeloh. It then goes on stage 4 from Undeloh to Niederhaverbeck. The entire tour runs through the "Lüneburger Heide" nature reserve (NSG LÜ 002), the largest and oldest nature reserve in Lower Saxony with 234 square kilometers.The hike from Wesel to Niederhaverbeck can also be summarized under one motto:

    Day 4 is our shortest day on our 9-day tour and takes us on stage 5 from Niederhaverbeck to Bispingen.At Gasthaus Menke in Niederhaverbeck, you first go straight back to the heath. After about 3 km the picture changes and we hike over fields and pass a primeval heather field. In a small piece of forest we meet Bockelmann's sheepfold, which was built around 1871 and is now a monument.

    On day 5 we hike stage 6, which takes us from Bispingen to Soltau.In Bispingen we pass the Ole Kerk right after the start. The stone church, built in 1353, is one of the oldest structures on the Lüneburg Heath.Shortly afterwards it goes into the forest. First on wide forest and farm roads and from the adventure playground, which we reach after 3 km, on beautiful natural paths and narrow paths through the pine forests.

    The FINALE - on our ninth and last day of our hike on the Heidschnuckenweg it goes on stage 13 from Dehningshof to Celle, where the Heidschnuckenweg ends at the castle park.Shortly after the start, we reach the small, beautiful heather area of the Severloher Heide. From there it goes on forest paths of different widths, often stretching straight ahead for kilometers, through beech and oak forests or along pine forests towards Celle.
