April 6th, 2018 - The chapel stands up here in an atmospheric way, you can enjoy the view here in peace - simply wonderful! The only disturbing thing are the garbage cans that don't fit into the picture at all - maybe there is another solution for this.

The silhouette of the pilgrimage church Maria Trost can already be seen from a distance on the so-called Kirchberg. The parish church is consecrated to Saint Stephen and shines in baroque splendor today due to the original Gothic construction due to a Baroque renovation in the 18th century. The name of the pilgrimage church can be traced back to a foundation of the Beer family who, after the birth of a son in 1679, donated a stone column with the Virgin Mary. Today the sculpture of the Virgin is integrated into the high altar.

The third Jakobskirche on the Jakobsweg Weinviertel is located in the romantic village of Etsdorf am Kamp. In keeping with the long pilgrimage tradition of the place, the high altar picture of the church from 1876 shows Saint James. He is unmistakably portrayed as a pilgrim: in addition to a pilgrim's staff, he also carries the Bible, a water bottle and a scallop shell. To fully absorb the feeling of pilgrimage, you should definitely see this church.

One of the four Jakobskirchen on the Weinviertel Jakobsweg awaits you shortly before Krems in Brunn im Felde. The church was first mentioned in a document in 1108, whereas today's building was built in 1783. It is a Josephine hall church with a late baroque nave and an integrated tower. The oldest part of the Jakobskirche, the choir, and an impressive ribbed vault inside are particularly worth seeing.

The Bürgerspitalkirche in Krems is very close to the stage destination of the Jakobsweg Weinviertel: The Wachau Cathedral is only 50 meters away. The first section to Santiago de Compostela is done!
