The new Velodrome in Salzburg’s lake district is the Austrian hot spot for all cycling enthusiasts. The gentle hilly landscape of the Alpine foothills with Wallersee, Mattsee, Grabensee and Obertrumer Lake offers a variety of routes at varying degrees of difficulty. Amateur, pleasure and sports cyclists can expect well-developed cycle paths stretching over a total distance of 370 miles (600 kilometers), which lead over hills with magnificent views, through thick forests and along unspoiled shorelines.
Whether you want to follow unmarked trails into the blue or follow one of the 17 prepared bike tours, you will find an ideal route here. In addition, seven rental and service stations as well as 20 e-bike charging stations are available for you to use. The Velodrome in Salzburg’s lake district is characterized by a cultural landscape that combines Mozart and Silent Night highlights as well as centuries-old brewing traditions with culinary delights inspired by herbs from lovingly cultivated gardens. On the Trumer-Seen-Runde you can cycle along the shores of the lakes and swim at the most beautiful bathing spots or lidos, on the Wallersee-Kräuter-Runde you can cycle from herb garden to herb garden whilst the baroque tour leads you to many historic churches.

This approximately 18-kilometer circular trail around the Wallersee is a very special experience, especially for nature lovers, because the route leads past nature reserves, bogs and cozy bathing spots.It starts at the beach in Seekirchen. From there you cycle on flat bike paths on the western shore of the lake to the north. Some sections will take you right along the water and give you a first-class view of the picturesque lake. Shortly thereafter you cycle through the Wenger Moor. Here it is worth taking a break, as there are walkways through the moor and viewing platforms from which you can observe the flora and fauna of the unique habitat in peace.At the Wallersee-Ostbucht you drive around the top of the lake. There are beautiful swimming areas and opportunities to stop. Refreshed and strengthened, it then goes back to the starting point in Seekirchen on the eastern shore of the lake. On the way you cycle over some small slopes, from which you can enjoy a great view over the lake. Also more beach baths and refreshments are on the way.
The Trumer-Seen-Rundweg takes you around three lakes: the Mattsee, the Obertrumer See and the Grabensee. On the way you can not only enjoy the beautiful view of the waters, but also the impressive natural and cultural landscape of the Salzburg Lake District.It starts in Mattsee at the car park north. From here the bike path leads you southwards over Mitterhof to Obertrum on the shore of the lake of the same name. While you can enjoy the view of the water on your right, beautiful fields and meadows extend to your left. On the west bank of Lake Obertrum continue north. On the sections that lead directly along the shore, you will experience the lake up close. If you feel like it, you can even stop at your favorite spot and refresh yourself in the water.Via Seeham we continue north to Grabensee. The route takes you a little way from the shore through green meadows. The view that opens up from the bike path to the lake and the picturesque, surrounding landscape is beautiful. Through idyllic nature you cycle to the Mattsee. On its eastern shore, it gets a little hilly, but you can enjoy from the heights a breathtaking view over the Mattsee to the Alps. On the last kilometers you then roll back comfortably on the shore of the lake to the starting point in Mattsee.

The Baroque tour is around 70 kilometers a little longer round trip, but you can still go well in one day. Through beautiful scenery and pretty villages you cycle in the footsteps of the greatest Austrian wood carver of the Baroque period: Meinrad Guggenbichler.The start of the round is in Michaelbeuern at the Benedictine monastery. In the eighth-century church, you can admire the Annunciation Group and the Baroque altar. From there you cycle via Perving to Palting. Here you can take your first little break and watch the Altar of Meinrad Guggenbichler in the Pestkapelle. Over some hills, from which you can enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding area, you get to holes. Here the interior of the parish church is entirely determined by Guggenbichler. The circuit takes you on via Lengau to Straßwalchen, where Guggenbichler created the high altar of the parish church in 1675. From here, a short detour into the two kilometers away Irrsdorf, where you can visit the pilgrimage church, in which two Baroque carved altars, the second largest high altar of Flachgau is located.The way back takes you over the Hubertuskapelle and Steindorf to Köstendorf, where the Dean's Church is worth a visit. Over some hills you cycle to Mattsee with the collegiate church. From here you drive comfortably between the three lakes Mattsee, Obertrumer See and Grabensee. Before it goes back to the starting point, waiting for a crisp climb to you, which ends in a rapid descent. About Lamprechtshausen it finally goes back comfortably to Michaelbeuern.
The nice round starts in Sighartstein near Neumarkt am Wallersee. From here it goes along the shore of a small pond to Pfongau and from there in a southerly direction at the herb garden in Topf over to Wertheim. Here you follow the Steinbach and then the Aubach through the forest. As soon as the trees clear, you cycle over wide fields and meadows always slightly uphill. At the highest point of the tour, you will take a sharp right turn and roll downhill to the west. On the way to Henndorf am Wallersee you can enjoy a great view over the beautiful hilly forest and meadow landscape.Henndorf am Wallersee is located about halfway and is thus ideal for a break. In the pretty village, where the Literature House Henndorf with information about Carl Zuckmayer and his literary friends is located, you have a large selection of comfortable rest stops. Strengthened, you then make your way back to the starting point of the tour via Oelling.
This beautiful bike path takes you on a circuit from Seekirchen past four lakes over Schleedorf, Mattsee, Lamprechtshausen to Oberndorf. From there it goes along the Tauern Cycle Path to Salzburg, Hallein and on to Golling. In Golling it goes back on the other side of the Salzach to Salzburg and over the old Ischlerbahn after Eugendorf to the starting point in Seekirchen. It's best to drive the round in two stages and spend the night in Salzburg.It starts in Seekirchen am Wallersee. From here you cycle north past Lake Wallersee and then between the three lakes Obertrumer See, Mattsee and Grabensee. On this route, you have the opportunity to stop at one of the lakes and take a swim break. After leaving the lakes behind you, you drive west through a beautiful forest and meadow landscape. In a large arc you then turn south, where you meet the Salzach. You follow it to Salzburg, the stage destination.On the second stage, you cycle along the banks of the Salzach River and follow it out of the city. The river leads you through picturesque countryside south to Golling. Here you cross the Salzach River and follow it to the north on the other side of the river. On the way back, you will come through Salzburg for a second time before finally turning east and cycling back to the starting point in Seekirchen.

For example, you can discover the castle garden at Seeburg in Seekirchen, the creative pavilion of fragrances in Henndorf and the herb garden in the pot in Neumarkt.The round for pleasure cyclists starts in Seekirchen. Here is also the first herb garden station, the new palace garden, which delighted herbalists and newlywed wedding couples alike. Over meadows with a view of the Wallersee it goes to Henndorf, where wonderfully aromatic herbs invite you to dream in the pavilion of scents.You cycle north through the beautiful meadow landscape, first a little uphill and then pleasantly downhill. At the Trapp nursery you will find the next herb garden, the herb garden in a pot - perhaps also an idea to imitate. From here the bike path leads you further north until you reach Straßwalchen. The center of the place is suitable for a break with a little stroll and a rest in one of the many cafés or restaurants.Freshly strengthened, you are now heading back south. In Köstendorf you will be enchanted by the soul brewing garden, which is cared for and cared for as a community project. A beautiful route past meadows and fields takes you to Schleedorf, where the modern garden is waiting for you. Here the Trumer herb garden is waiting for you, which enchants with a variety of fragrant plants. On the west bank of Lake Obertrumer you cycle north. You can let your gaze wander over the water and stop at a beautiful place to bathe in the lake.In Seeham you will find the traditionally designed Bauerngartl in front of the newly restored municipal office. From here you drive in a large arc around the Grabensee. On the way in Feichten you can not only enjoy the beautiful view over the lake, but also a lovingly designed herbal island.North of the lakes you cycle through beautiful meadows to the northern tip of the Mattsee. On the way there you always have a wonderful panoramic view of the three Trumer lakes. Over some hills it goes back to the shore of the Mattsee.
