The new Velodrome in Salzburg’s lake district is the Austrian hot spot for all cycling enthusiasts. The gentle hilly landscape of the Alpine foothills with Wallersee, Mattsee, Grabensee and Obertrumer Lake offers a variety of routes at varying degrees of difficulty. Amateur, pleasure and sports cyclists can expect well-developed cycle paths stretching over a total distance of 370 miles (600 kilometers), which lead over hills with magnificent views, through thick forests and along unspoiled shorelines.
Whether you want to follow unmarked trails into the blue or follow one of the 17 prepared bike tours, you will find an ideal route here. In addition, seven rental and service stations as well as 20 e-bike charging stations are available for you to use. The Velodrome in Salzburg’s lake district is characterized by a cultural landscape that combines Mozart and Silent Night highlights as well as centuries-old brewing traditions with culinary delights inspired by herbs from lovingly cultivated gardens. So that you can really enjoy the region’s diversity, we will show you seven circular routes in this Collection which you can also combine with each other if you wish to cycle further.
On the Trumer-Seen-Runde you can cycle along the shores of the lakes and swim at the most beautiful bathing spots or lidos, on the Wallersee-Kräuter-Runde you can cycle from herb garden to herb garden whilst the baroque tour leads you to many historic churches.
The numerous excursion destinations in the Velodrome Salzburg lake district guarantee you a fun-filled holiday. The lounge chairs situated at power places and vantage points are another unique gem in the region, allowing you not just to take a break from cycling, but also a break for the soul.
