When the leaves start to fall, when squirrels start to gather their winter supplies, when the sun no longer rises quite as high above the horizon — it can only mean one thing: Fall is here. Now, it's time to get the fleece jackets out of the closet and to wax the hiking boots. When the city gets quieter this November, you should definitely go out into the nature to do the last longer this year. With a cosy jacket, warm woolen socks and a thermos with hot coffee, your autumn outing can start right away.
So you can make the most of this season, we have put together ten fantastic autumn hikes around Berlin. At Schlachtensee, you'll enjoy the colorful leaves of oak and beech trees, at the Karow ponds you can observe the migratory birds that can only be seen at this time of year — and over the Mariendorfer Feldmark you'll witness the stunning mist that cuddles the landscape like a giant blanket.
All our hikes can be easily reached with the Berlin S-Bahn or the regional train. And with a mouth nose cover and a little distance to the other passengers, you can get out into the countryside safely on weekends.
Now, all you have to do is make up your mind: Whether you head out for a short walk or a real day-hike, it's all up to you. Just browse through our hikes and let yourself get inspired.
When the sun is lower and lower in the sky in autumn, the most beautiful orange and red tones unfold, bathing the lake landscape around the capital in a warm, romantic atmosphere. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, you can indulge your thoughts in northeast Berlin and soak up the lovely…
When the postman rings your bell these days, he is usually on his way with the bike that was filled in one of the many distribution centers. But that was not always so. Fully loaded carriages, pulled by horses, rattled along forest paths paved with stones from Hamburg to Berlin. With this wonderful autumnal…

Don't worry, you read that correctly: This tour does not take you to Krumme Lanke in Grunewald, but to Krumme Lake in Grünau. The Krumme Lake meanders parallel to the Dahme and the regatta course, here as a sluggish river, through an untouched mixed forest. In late summer, the mosquitoes dance in the…
Are you in the mood for a long day hike in autumn? Then the Hohe Fläming is the right place. From Bad Belzig you hike through pine and beech forests, along hilly fields and through small, sleepy villages to Wiesenburg. Absolute highlight on this tour: The Hagelberg. With a height of 201 meters it is…
In summer, lots of bathers travel to Bad Saarow to splash and swim in the Scharmutzelsee. In autumn, on the other hand, the huge forests in the area are the main attraction for long hikes. On our round tour you will visit three highlights in the forests: In the west you will explore the old clay pits…
Around Berlin, wide forest areas join, but in the south are wide, open meadow landscapes. Especially on the wall path between Lichtenrade and Lichterfelde you can enjoy the wide view over pastures and fields. If the sun is low here in autumn and the morning mist is hovering over the fields, then this…
While the shores of Lake Schlachtensee are visited by many bathers on hot summer days, you can enjoy the water and the silent forest all by yourself here in autumn. The lake can be completely circumnavigated on comfortable hiking trails. In the restaurant Fischerhütte on the northeastern shore of the…
The idyllic Flakensee lies between Erkner and Woltersdorf. The Kranichsberg rises on its east bank. With a height of 104 meters, this is quite an impressive increase – at least by Brandenburg standards. There is a wooden observation tower at the top of the mountain, which offers you a wonderful panorama…
In the north of the Frohnau garden settlement is the small Hubertussee. The lake was originally created as a clay pit. It was already flooded and renatured around 1910. It was part of the new settlement plan for the Frohnauer Forest. Another special feature of the forest dates back to this time: even…
The nature reserve at the Karower ponds is always worth a visit throughout the year. Countless birds live here on the wooded shores of the former peat bogs. In addition to ducks, swans, whales and herons, you can even see cuckoos and marsh harriers here. It will be particularly exciting for birdwatchers…
