At a height of more then 6.500 feet (about 2.000 meters), the Inntaler High Trail meanders promisingly over the Inn Valley through the Tuxer Alps. With its six daily stages, the long-distance hiking trail is a delight for all your senses: gourmets will be delighted by the excellent food in the huts, nature lovers will enjoy the fantastic panorama and the route through rustic valleys and romantic forests. You can expect more than 43 miles (about 70 kilometers) and almost 13.100 feet (4.000 meters) in altitude of pure hiking fun.

A highlight of the Inntaler High Trail, or Inntaler for short, welcomes you right at the start of the hike: the Zirbenweg. It leads you through the landscape protection area between Zirmberg, Viggartal and Glungezer above the Blue Lakes. The Swiss stone pine is one of the oldest in Europe and is simply beautiful. Breathe in the relaxing scent of the conifers and start your hiking adventure. After this great start, it continues impressively: The path leads you through the region of the „Seven Tuxer Summits“ and offers the unique views of a dreamy, alpine landscape. You climb mountain peaks, hike over narrow ridges and beautiful mountain paths – peppered with cozy evenings in the huts with regional dishes and promising terraces. It is worth registering your overnight stays in advance, then you will definitely be guaranteed a place to sleep.

The starting point of the multi-day tour is at the mountain station of the Patscherkofelbahn. You cover the first meters of altitude from Innsbruck-Igls in the gondola. From the main train station in Innsbruck you can take the bus line J directly to the valley station. If you are arriving by car, you will find a paid parking lot (6 euros per day). Access and descent are possible on every stage of the Inn Valley, if you don't want to walk the entire route. Just ask on the huts for the best way. You should have a certain level of fitness and sure-footedness for the hike. You can also bypass the only point on stage two that is marked as difficult if you do not feel safe or the weather is not right.

The Inntaler High Trail is one of the six most beautiful long-distance hiking trails in Tyrol, the so-called "Great Walks". All routes promise you three things: get away from it all, experience real adventure and immerse yourself in particularly beautiful alpine mountain landscapes. In addition to the Inntaler High Trail, the Karnisch High Trail, the Berlin High Trail, the Lechtal High Trail, the Stubai High Trail and the belong to the Tyrolean hiking trail elite.
