What could be better than the breathtaking mountain panorama after a sweaty climb that you have earned yourself on your bike? When you can expect such fantastic views as in the Jungfrau region in the Bernese Oberland, there's hardly anything better. And yet the area around the towns of Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren, Lauterbrunnen and the Haslital has much more to offer. Here you can expect beautiful alpine mountain scenery, impressive waterfalls, picturesque valleys, idyllic villages, cosy mountain huts and of course great opportunities for you and your mountain bike. With the eleven tours of this collection we present you some particularly beautiful trails of the region.

Grindelwald, situated in the centre of the Jungfrau Region, is the ideal starting point for day tours in this area. Situated at the foot of the Eiger, this lively mountain village with five specialised bike hotels, two competent bike shops including bike rental and a handful of dedicated guides with the best trail insider knowledge you could wish for, offers the perfect base for your biking holiday in the Jungfrau Region. Mürren is recommended as a second starting point or excursion destination. The former Walser settlement lies on a terrace above the Lauterbrunnen Valley at an altitude of 1,650 metres. The car-free village at the foot of the Schilthorn with the revolving restaurant Piz Gloria, which became famous as the location for a James Bond film, can be reached by cable car, but of course also by bike.

Well developed and signposted cycle paths, the freeride route in Lauterbrunnen and all-mountain tours of the finest quality are the hallmarks of this biking region. Mountain biking is generally permitted on the 800 kilometres of marked hiking trails. The natural routes promise you a lot of riding fun if you are a single-trailer biker. But also adrenaline junkies get their money's worth. The four-kilometre freeride route from Grütschalp to Lauterbrunnen with a depth of 600 metres was created by former World Cup professional and track construction expert Claudio Calouri. Trail and north-shore areas, steeply sloping passages and flow sections alternate here and provide great challenges on the bike.

The Jungfrau region lies in the middle of the Bernese Oberland, between Lakes Brienz and Thun and the triumvirate of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren, Lauterbrunnen and Haslital are the main holiday resorts in the middle of this enchanting mountain world. You can easily arrive in your own car, just remember that Wengen and Mürren are car-free places. Maybe you will make this the motto of your holiday and arrive completely by train? That's no problem either: from Basel you can reach the Jungfrau region quickly and easily via Intercity, from Zurich and Geneva you have to change trains in Bern. Taxis, shuttles and buses ensure that you are mobile even without your own car.

The spice is in a nutshell: for a good six kilometers there is both a decent climb that will make you sweat and a short but ingenious descent. The increase looks pretty flat at the beginning, but is increasing. After starting in Mürren, you first pedal slowly up the mountain on a paved road. Asphalt

This tour follows the motto: first the climb, then the pleasure. In other words, you can expect a flowing route with a long climb, but an easy course. So you can take your eyes off the track from time to time and instead focus on the beautiful panorama and the impressive, steep rock faces.
