In this Collection, we present the eLight version of the legendary "KAT Bike" classic. The four stages will take you on an unforgettable adventure through the mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps in Austria. On your bike, you will discover breathtaking views, idyllic mountain pastures and cosy huts.
The eLight version of the KAT Bike is aimed at e-bikers with some technical knowledge and a good basic condition. The individual stages are also easy to ride on a mountain bike, gravel bike or touring bike with wide tyre tread.
Depending on your schedule, you can choose between three or four daily stages. With 15.5 miles (25 km) and 2,296 feet (700 m) of climbing, you can consider the first stage as a bonus stage to warm up your muscles. There are also two variants of the second stage from Hopfgarten to Brixen im Thale. You can put together your own KAT bike adventure flexibly.
You can master the eLight KAT Bike route on your own or book it as a package. There are 3 and 4 star hotels en route, as well as luggage transport from hotel to hotel, and a guest card which includes your return train journey to the starting point in Hopfgarten. Or, you can stay in one of the three Brixental villages Kirchberg, Brixen or Westendorf. With a guest card, you can travel free of charge by regional train to the starting point of the individual stages. Pleasure and adventure in perfect harmony – welcome to the eLight KAT Bike eLight!
This tour is perfect for unicycling and therefore not a must, but a nice bonus for the KAT Bike eLight, which you can alternatively start directly from Hopfgarten. The stage from Mariastein to Hopfgarten is relatively short with only 25 kilometers in length and 700 meters of altitude, but offers a number of striking cultural monuments, old farms and fantastic views of the city of Wörgl and the Inn Valley - so you have enough time to do everything in peace to look at and to enjoy the beautiful views. You drive down the sunny high plateau of Mariastein and Angerberg to the Inn and over the Inn bridge into the city of Wörgl, along Bahnhofstrasse to Wildschönauerstrasse. Here the first climb soon leads up to the managed Möslalm at an altitude of 964 meters. Above you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Inn Valley. After a leisurely rest, continue on the forest road until the descent into the hamlet of Pinnersdorf begins. Once in the valley it goes to Bruckhäusl and on the Brixental bike path to Hopfgarten. It is worth exploring the charming place with its baroque core in peace after the tour. After this beautiful bonus tour, you are perfectly attuned to the other stages of the KAT Bike eLight.
From Hopfgarten there are two ways to start the KAT Bike eLight. This one is a little bit more demanding because there are more vertical meters to overcome. For this you drive up to the very cozy Haag Alpe, where you can enjoy a little refreshment with the finest view, which you can take yourself by self-service. Payment is a matter of trust and honor - mountain idyll at its finest. After this nice stop, you drive downhill for a long time to the idyllic village of Kelchsau. Here it seems as if time has stopped. A stop at the old Fuchswirt is worthwhile before continuing on. After a further climb towards Glanterer Kogel you come to the lighter version of the KAT Bike eLight and cycle on to Westendorf. The Brixental cycle path leads you to the stage destination Brixen im Thale.

Variant B of the second stage is a bit easier than variant A. And it awaits you with even more enjoyment: on the way you will pass some rustic refreshment stops where you can calmly fortify yourself with delicious regional specialties. If you don't want to go all that high, but prefer to take it a little easier, then this variant is just right for you. From Hopfgarten you first follow the road towards Kelchsau. Once there, you should take a look at the traditional old town center. Here the clocks tick differently and it is worth taking a little break. Then it continues: first up towards Glanterer Kogel, then further towards Westendorf and finally into the beautiful Windau valley.Along the Windauer Ache it is not only beautiful, there is also a very special treat waiting for you. In the Käsealm Straubing, you can reward yourself with homemade cheese and bacon specialties and strengthen yourself for the onward journey. Via a beautiful forest path you finally reach the Windautalstraße, which leads you out of the valley. Finally, you cycle comfortably along the Brixental cycle path to the stage destination in Brixen im Thale.
First the mountain - then the pleasure. This is the motto of this tour, but if we are honest, even the long climb with the e-mountain bike is pure pleasure. Because the higher you get, the lighter the forest and the more beautiful the views of the surrounding mountains. Once at the top, the Wiegalm welcomes you with excellent regional cuisine - time for a cozy break! Incidentally, the oven-fresh roast pork is particularly well-known and popular, but it is only available on weekends.Rested and strengthened, it continues. You roll down a forest road that leads you into the valley to Kirchberg. If you fancy mountain bike action, the easy to moderate Wiegalm single trail is a great alternative - but you should already have a few technical skills on the bike. From Kirchberg it will be completely relaxed again. On the valley bike path you drive towards Kitzbühel, past the beautiful Schwarzsee, in which the massif of the Wilder Kaiser is reflected. You reach Kitzbühel via Schwarzseestraße and then you drive via the beautiful Römerweg to Oberndorf to today's stage destination.
The final stage leads you through the beautiful St. Johann always on the clean asphalt bike path along the St. Johanner Ache to Erpfendorf. This is the easiest of all stages and it is a great way to end your long tour through the Kitzbüheler Alpen. Today you can take a deep breath and enjoy the wonderful natural beauties that you will pass on the way.It only goes downhill to Erpfendorf. From here the bike path leads partly through forested areas and offers pleasant shade on hot days, even if the route now leads slowly uphill again. In Waidring you can refresh yourself at the village fountain or cool off later in the lido of the idyllic Pillersee. But even without a dip in the cool water, the lake is beautiful and a great backdrop for a break: In summer it is crystal clear and very fresh due to the constantly fresh spring water from the Loferer Steinberge. Rested and full of beautiful impressions, your journey comes to an end. On a beautiful bike path you first drive through St. Jakob in Haus and finally to the destination of the stage trip to Fieberbrunn.
