In Tyrol in Austria, dreamlike landscapes, as well as delicious cuisine and mountain huts, await. From celebrity chefs to hosts in mountain huts who cook with sustainability in mind, the eight huts featured in this Collection will be an adventure for your taste buds. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, you can taste traditional dishes that have been re-invented and artistically prepared. After a long hike, we know from experience that food tastes even better.
In this Collection, we take you on eight day hikes around the entire province of Tyrol. Each route takes you to a different mountain hut. Three of the huts produce classic Tyrolean dishes using regional ingredients, concentrating on the subtle details of the food. The hosts of the Hochschober Hut, the Muttekopf Hut, and the Lizumer Hut know their suppliers by heart and still make their own sourdough or distill their own schnapps. With such attention to detail and care, these huts in the heart of the mountains offer a very special culinary experience.
The other five huts go a step further with famous chefs in the kitchen. On the border to South Tyrol, you hike from the famous Reschensee Lake to the Stieralm, which combines modernity and tradition. High above Sölden municipality, you dine in the futuristic Ice Q, where Daniel Craig aka James Bond once also enjoyed dinner with a view. Just outside of Innsbruck, you climb up to the Umbrüggler Alm, where you can enjoy magnificent views over the city, as well as with dishes such as Tyrolean Alm gnocchi with regional mountain cheese. In the Zillertal valley, you climb up to the Wedel Hut. Here, you can tuck into an excellent 4-course menu and even stay overnight in the wild mountain scenery. The tour to the Angerer Alm is a highlight for foodies and wine lovers alike. Just below the Kitzbüheler Horn, you will find one of the highest wine cellars in the Alps
So if you would like to reward yourself with excellent food after a hike, you are guaranteed to find the right Tour for you in this Collection. All hikes are easy with good footwear and alpine experience is not necessary. The starting points of the respective Tours can be reached either with the mountain railway or directly from villages.
Now the choice is up to you: Slow Food with regional ingredients, excellent wines, or a glamorous 4-course menu? One thing is guaranteed no matter what you choose – the Tyrolean mountains will be your constant companion.

Together with a friend, he left for Tibet and spent months wandering across the Himalayas. Back in Austria, there was a unique opportunity on arrival: a mutual…
