    Santa Coloma - Sant Hilari

    Road Cycling Highlight (Segment)

At Santa Coloma, take the GI-551 road in the direction of Sant Hilari Sacalm. This is a sensational secondary road in the Guilleries Massif with hardly any traffic, ideal for cyclists. The road climbs gently but constantly for 20 km, offering us a very enjoyable ride as far as Sant Hilari Sacalm, the high point of the route, situated 800 metres above sea level.

Els Àngels - Puig Alt (485 meter)

    Road Cycling Highlight (Segment)

Ascending Els Angels from the west, heading out of Girona, is one of the most popular climbs in the region.

Simply take the GIV-6703, leave La Creueta and carry on east following the signs for Els Angels. The first kilometer is quite gentle, but kilometers two and three may seem like a bit of a drag. It does get easier after that until the last couple of kilometers before the summit.

The hardest bit about climbing Els Angels is probably the length of the climb, just over ten kilometers, but the easier gradients in the middle really allow you to take a breath and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

    Mare de Deu del Mont

    Road Cycling Highlight

This is the summit of the 18km Mare de Deu del Mont climb. There is a restaurant / café, with a wonderful outdoor terrace with views over the Garrotxa, the Pyrenees, and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. There is a sculpture of Jacint Verdaguer, who lived up at the top in the hermitage for several years. You can find opening times and contact details of the restaurant, here: marededeudelmont.com/ca/contacte-i-localitzacio

    Santa Pellaia climb

    Road Cycling Highlight (Segment)

A great climb from both directions, from Cassa de la Selva it's a bit shorter. Great road surface, flowing corners and great views!
