The region, located in the east of Switzerland, has two winter sports resorts in Flumserberg and Pizol. With snow-covered mountain peaks, outrageously good fondue and winter hikes for every fitness level, both regions offer guaranteed fun.
In this Collection, you will find ten different routes suitable for you whether you prefer a short walk with the whole family or a long hike through the snow. A network of great winter hiking trails runs through the Flumserberg region around the villages of Tannenboden and Tannenheim and nine of the ten hikes in this Collection lead through this area.
In Pizol, you will find the unique Panorama Hoehenweg which enchants hikers both in summer and winter. Here, during the colder months, you can experience snow-covered forests, grandiose views of white peaks and glistening snowfields.
You can travel to some of the starting points, such as Tannenboden, by car or bus. However, other hikes start high up in the spectacular mountain world. To reach these, you can take the mountain railways.

This short winter hike takes you through the beautiful mountains of the Skiwelt Flumserberg. The paths are always prepared and are safe for the whole family to commit. The town Tannenboden can be reached from Flums by car or bus, alternatively by the lift from Unterterzen. You start at the Sennestube on the Alp Tannenboden, at the beginning of the cross-country trails. Without major differences in altitude, it goes to Mittenwald.Where in summer the mountain bikers board the trails, you walk along the snow-covered edge of the forest and cross the Tobelbach stream, which is adorned with icicles. Past some winter holiday homes you follow the path to the station of the Mittenwald ski lift. Once there, you can stop in one of the cozy restaurants or spend relaxing hours in the indoor pool Flumserberg. Back to the starting point, for example, you can take the Postbus.

Alp Tannenbodenstrasse takes you to the Alp, which is well known for its home-made products such as Alpine cheese, yoghurt and Camembert. Along the cross-country trail, you hike gently downhill to the children's ski lift. In winter, there is a lot going on and you can watch the skiers of tomorrow in their first attempts.The well-groomed hiking trail runs along the Madlis plateau and the Tobelbach, popular with winter sports enthusiasts of all kinds - snow-covered peaks and sparkling snowfields await you. A piece of the path leads through quiet forest and then you hike up the gentle slope to the lively Prodalp. There you can stop in the modern mountain restaurant and enjoy the fantastic view.
This varied winter hike takes you from the Prodalp to the Alp Panüöl. Alternatively, you can start already in Tannenalp, the network of winter hiking trails here is widely branched and this tour is one of the most beautiful on Flumserberg. You can reach the starting point on foot or with the Prodalpexpress from Tannenheim.From the lift station you follow the course of the icy glistening Rustenbach. The path climbs steadily and leads you alternately through small forests and wide snowfields. Also cross-country skiers are here on the way, but on the wide way everyone finds easy place.Through the snow-covered, quiet winter landscape you walk in the direction of Panüöl. The picturesque Alprestaurant was opened in 2012 and spoils you with regional delicacies such as raclette or fondue. From the terrace you can enjoy an impressive view of the Spitzmeilen area. Back it goes on the same way or with the mountain railways.
From the mountain station Maschgenkamm and the panorama restaurant there you walk down to the Maschgenlücke. The first section is relatively steep down and overcomes up to the restaurant Maschgenlücke 60 meters. Therefore, we recommend you to bring hiking poles and to pay attention to icy places.Then you follow the path, which inspires many hikers with its picturesque panorama even in summer. Before you turn left, you cross a ski slope. Here you should pay attention to approaching winter sports.With a view of the striking summit of the Spitzmeile, you can walk through the wintry landscape. It goes steadily downhill to a small grove, from which you can already see your destination. On a wide alp lies the cozy restaurant Panüöl, which spoils you with Swiss delicacies. Back to the Maschgenkamm you come with the chairlift or you continue to Prodalp.
This short and easy circular walk is suitable for the whole family, even for prams. You start at the bottom station of the Maschgenkamm gondola and walk past the winter campsite, which deserves an award for the most beautiful view in Switzerland.The well-groomed path will take you to a lookout point with wooden benches, from which you have a breathtaking view of Lake Walen. The sparkling lake and the rugged peaks of the Churfirsten lie before you. If you can tear yourself away from the beautiful sight, you continue to the restaurant Molseralp. The cozy sun terrace, which is well attended in every season, invites you to a final stop.
This winter hike is suitable for the whole family, because it leads mostly on easy to bypass side roads and paths. The starting point is at the bus stop Tannenheim Post. From there you follow the Schwendiwiesenstrasse to the south and pass by snow-covered chalets and wooden houses. After you have crossed the babbling Ruslenbach, it zigzags through a small cottage area up.In the following section you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Churfirsten. The Cafridastrasse passes under the Prodalp-Express and brings you to Mittenwald. At the end of your winter hike, you can stop at the restaurant Alpenblick. Return to Tannenheim by bus or on foot on Flumserbergstrasse.
