The Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald is a real insider tip for mountain bikers, a little paradise in the middle of Germany. Crisp trails, rapid descents, steep climbs and enjoyable routes each with varied topography – the Odenwald offers great mountain bike experiences for every rider. In this Collection, we show you twelve varied tours that are just as suitable for experienced bikers as for hobby bikers or families with kids.

A dense network of trails meanders through the landscape and leads you through ancient forests, across wide meadows and up to panoramic hilltops often crowned by an old castle. In between, you will stop in idyllic villages and ancient half-timbered towns which offer an almost Mediterranean flair due to the mild climate. All routes lie along the Bergstrasse between Darmstadt and Heidelberg and are easy to reach, especially from the Rhine-Main area, but also from all other parts of Germany. Warm hosts offer you cosy accommodation and down-to-earth, regional cuisine, so that the pleasure after biking is far from over when you finish the trail. So what are you waiting for? Your mountain bike holiday in the Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald is just around the corner!

The Odenwald once belonged to the Empire of Rome. In the east, the border wall Limes protected the Romans from the "wild" Teutons. Even today you can find in the landscape the interesting legacies of the Romans. One of them is on this tour: The Roman Villa Haselburg was a manor, of which there were many in the past. Their floor plans have been uncovered and are freely accessible as an open-air museum.

Mountain biking and viticulture have something in common: if the mountain slopes are steep and sunny, it works very well! This approximately 37 kilometers long and quite demanding tour offers the best conditions for biking, but also for the wine, which thrives here magnificently. On this tour, you will cycle through the "Odenwald Wine Island", one of the smallest wine-growing regions in Germany, which produces racy and high-quality wines that you should definitely taste after the round.
