The Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald is a real insider tip for mountain bikers, a little paradise in the middle of Germany. Crisp trails, rapid descents, steep climbs and enjoyable routes each with varied topography – the Odenwald offers great mountain bike experiences for every rider. In this Collection, we show you twelve varied tours that are just as suitable for experienced bikers as for hobby bikers or families with kids.

A dense network of trails meanders through the landscape and leads you through ancient forests, across wide meadows and up to panoramic hilltops often crowned by an old castle. In between, you will stop in idyllic villages and ancient half-timbered towns which offer an almost Mediterranean flair due to the mild climate. All routes lie along the Bergstrasse between Darmstadt and Heidelberg and are easy to reach, especially from the Rhine-Main area, but also from all other parts of Germany. Warm hosts offer you cosy accommodation and down-to-earth, regional cuisine, so that the pleasure after biking is far from over when you finish the trail. So what are you waiting for? Experienced bikers will get their money's worth on the tour through the Weinheim Odenwald and you'll be rewarded again and again with fantastic views and the diversity and beauty of the varied landscape.Immediately after the start, you look over the vineyards east of Lützelsachsen on the mountain road and in the Rhine valley, before you come in one of the most beautiful and pristine Odenwald valleys: the Haundeltal. The Geonaturpark path here is also great to explore on foot - so if you're in the area for longer, it's worth coming back here.It goes on varied.     Bensheim an der Bergstrasse is the largest town in the Bergstraße district with a long history and many sights. You can watch them later in peace. This beautiful, quite challenging tour takes you north of Bensheim out of the city and into the nature of the Odenwald and Bergstraße. On the way, some driving challenges await you, but also impressive views and fairy-tale castles.Highlight of the round is undoubtedly the 517 meter high Melibokus. He is the uncrowned king of the Odenwald and above you can expect a breathtaking view, which in good weather in the Vosges over the Palatinate Forest and up to the Taunus ranges. The increase is of course a bit sweaty, but quite feasible. In general, the whole tour is laid out in such a way that you can negotiate the uphill sections on well mobile and mostly moderate climbs, while downhill fast descents and technical singletrack are waiting for you.
