From here it goes through the village Kleindombra and continue on a forest road to the "forest stage on the Luschan height", a ship-like viewing platform. Here you can enjoy the view of Lake Millstatt and the mountains beyond. Also Millstatt with the villa architecture from the time of the summer resort you overlook from the viewpoint.Then you hike on silent paths comfortably on to Lake Zwergsee and Klieberteich before returning to the starting point.

While you walk comfortably, splendid flower meadows alternate with shady woodland and again and again you enjoy beautiful views of the lake. Before you finish your round trip at the starting point, make a detour to the Sternenbalkon. From the viewing platform you have another spectacular view of Lake Millstatt. The "way of love. Sentiero dell'Amore "leads from the Alexander Hut over the pastures of the Millstätter Alpe to the Granattor.On the way you pass seven places of togetherness that invite you to linger. At each of the squares you can settle down on a cozy wooden bench and rest. In addition to the benches, you'll also find a reading table with a book that contains reflections on love. You can also write down your thoughts yourself in the seven books.On the whole hike you will be accompanied by wonderful views of Lake Millstatt and the surrounding mountains. But not only in the distance you discover jewels, also on the wayside you can find something unique: Garnets, which are considered as a stone of love.
On the first leg of the Millstätter See elevation you hike from the Pichlhütte over the three cams Tschiernock, Hochpalfennock and Tschierwegernock to the Schwaigerhütte.From the Pichlhütte you hike through lush, lush green forests to the Sommereggerhütte and along a paved gravel road to the Hansbauerhütte. A hiking trail then takes you to the most beautiful place in the region, the "Stone Table". From here we continue on the Gamsbründelsteig on the Tschiernock. On the way you will pass managed huts and the town of Kaning. The individual sections of the day are classified as 'medium-heavy'.It starts at the Schwaigerhütte, from which you walk over the Millstätter Hütte and over the Kamplnock am Kaisersteig to the Obermillstätter Almkreuz at 2,046 meters altitude. On the way, you will always come back to drinking water wells, where you can refresh yourself and enjoy beautiful views of Lake Millstatt.The "garnet-paved" Kaisersteig leads you directly to the most beautiful place in the region - the "Granattor" - where you can let your gaze wander over the entire Millstätter See. From here you walk to Lammersdorfer Hütte, where you can stop.Strengthened it goes over the Rosenkofel and past some huts down to Kaning, where you can spend the night. On the Kneipp and Mühlenwanderweg it then goes to the Petodnighütte. On a paved gravel road you hike in the Langalmtal valley to Erlacherhaus, the destination of the stage.
This stage takes you from the Erlacherhaus to the large Rosennock from there in a loop back to the Erlacherhaus, then on through the Langalmtal and finally to the Gasthof Bergfried. You can split the stage in two days and spend the night in Erlacherhaus, where the stage starts. On the way you pass the 2,170 meter high Predigerstuhl and the idyllic Nassbodensee. Then you descend on an alternative route that takes you past the Langganghütte and the Feldhütte back to Erlacherhaus.From here, you hike on a paved gravel road over the Langalmtal to the Petodnighütte and continue on the Mühlen- and Kneippwanderweg, a family and adventure trail, on which you can admire mills from the 18th century. Continue via Kaning to Radenthein. On the way you will make a detour to the Granatium, where the most beautiful place in the region, "The guarded stone", is waiting for you. Via Döbriach, you will hike to the stage destination, Gasthof Bergfried, and enjoy the unforgettable views of Lake Millstätter See.
From Gasthof Bergfried you will hike across the Mirnock to the shore of Lake Millstätter See on this stage. If the stage is too long for you, you can go there in two days and stay at the Gasthof Klammer or in Mooswald. Then it goes on a hiking trail up to the 2,110 meter high Mirnock.Following the Scala Paradisi, whose 30 steps nestle into the landscape, you will continue on a hiking trail that will take you right past the Seeberührung® on the mountain - the cattle lake below the cattle dock. Via the Gingerhütte at 1,699 meters you continue to the Gasthof Klammer.From here we continue downhill towards the lake. You wander through the moss forest and shine. You always have beautiful views of Lake Millstatt. Via a hiking trail you will reach the destination of the stage, Ferndorf beach on the shores of the lake.
This stage takes you from Strandbad Ferndorf via Spittal an der Drau to the middle station of the Goldeck Bergbahn. If you want, you can go the stage in two days and spend the night, for example, in Seeboden, Spittal or in one of the inns along the way. The individual sections of the day are classified as 'medium-heavy'.From Strandbad Ferndorf you hike on the southern shore of Lake Millstatt to the Laggerhof. From here you have a great view over the lake. Then you continue via Großegg and Winkl to the Egelsee, where you can take a refreshing swim. After refreshment in the lake, you will hike gently downhill. You pass the Wolfsberg and pass St. Wolfgang. A paved road then leads you down to the shore.Via the Liesersteig you hike high above the Lieser to Spittal, where you can stroll through the Statdpark and over the new place.Over the old Goldeckweg, a fortified gravel road, you reach the inn Krendlmar. From here you follow the trail up to the stage destination, the middle station of the Goldeck Bahn. Alternatively, you can also take the cable car up.
The sixth stage, which leads you on the tracks of the old gold diggers, starts at the middle station of the Goldeck cable car and leads you over the Goldeck and the Martenock down into the valley to Unterhaus. Then you hike over the ridge path to the 2,039 meter high Martennock. Past the Goldeckhütte you then descend again. In the village Goldeck at the middle station you can strengthen yourself in the inn Krendlmar.With renewed energy it goes in several turns downhill towards Schwaig and on to the final destination Unterhaus.
From Unterhaus you wander across the castle ruins Ortenburg to Lendorf. Right at the beginning of the stage, you can visit the Craft Museum in Unterhaus and see exhibits of old crafts and trades in the region.On a gravel road, it goes uphill and past the most beautiful square in the region, the sculpture "Mottenstein - in the footsteps of the medieval Ortenburger", to the inn Marhube and continue to Ortenburg. Here you can enjoy the magnificent view over the Drau Valley. On the Bee Trail you hike downhill back to lower house.Through beautiful fields you walk to Baldramsdorf, where you can visit the church of St. Martin. About Gendorf it goes to Rosenheim, where also a beautiful church is waiting for you. You can satisfy your hunger here at Gasthof Wilscher.Strengthened, you hike along the main road, cross the river Drava and finally reach Lendorf, the destination of the stage.
The eighth stage takes you from Lendorf over the Gmeineck to the Pichlerhütte, the starting point of the Millstätter See Höhensteig. You can go this stage for example in three days where you can spend the night in Kolmwirt and in Altersberg. The individual sections of the day are classified as 'medium-heavy'.From the starting point you hike uphill and make a detour to the pilgrimage church Maria in Hohenburg. Then it's the most beautiful place in the region, the "3 valleys view", which is a special vantage point with large telescopes, past and up to Kohlmaierhütte.From here, the trail leads you to the Gmeineck in 2,592 meters altitude. From the summit, you then descend to Bergfriedhütte and on to Altersberg.Via Zelsach, Hintereggen and St. Paul you continue hiking to the Lieser. After you have crossed the river, it goes slightly uphill again. At Burg Sommeregg you can take a break and strengthen yourself. With new strength, you will then climb to the Pichlhütte, the destination of the stage.
