One of the best ways to enjoy a summer day is cycling to a bathing lake. What could be better than cooling off after a ride by jumping into refreshing water? The city of Offenburg, in southwest Germany, has many beautiful lakes just waiting to be discovered by you.

In this Collection, we show you seven cycling Tours through Ortenau, a historic region in the state of Baden-Württembergwhich, that take you to the best bathing lakes. Sounds good? Then grab a few friends and get exploring!

There are a few options for accommodation. You could try a camping trip to Lake Achernsee. If crossing borders is your thing, then the trip to France’s nearby Forêt de la Robertsau is a good option. If you want to go high up and the Black Forest attracts you with its shady fir trees and fantastic views, then you should definitely take a look at the Tours to the mystic Glaswaldsee and the Hornisgrinde.

The Tours in this Collection range from 7 to 45 kilometres (4.3 to 28 mi). The Offenburg train station is easy to reach by public transport. On the way back, you can choose whether you want to cycle back or take the bikes with you on the train and arrive back in Offenburg in less than an hour.
