Here, we have selected the ten most beautiful discovery bike routes in Chiemgau. Three routes will take you around Lake Chiemsee, Lake Waginger See or Lake Tachinger See — with wonderful views, refreshing bathing spots and cosy beach cafés included. On the Engergietour (Energy tour), Wasser-Erlebnistour (Water discovery tour) and Adelholzener Tour, you can follow one of the region’s many streams and rivers. If you would like to learn more about the rural traditions in the Chiemgau region, the Bauernhof-Safari (farm safari) is exactly the right route for you: farm shops and cafés and the farm museum in Amerang offer you more than many opportunities for a short break during your ride. The Eiszeitrunde (Ice Age Circuit) takes you even further back in history. Here, you can visit the Mammut Museum and get to know the Chiemgau landscape that was formed by the last ice age from a completely new perspective.
In addition to the wonderful routes, you can enjoy excellent infrastructure for cyclists during your holiday. There is enough space for your bike in most regional trains and you can take it in the Achentallinie buses. Are you coming without your own bike? No problem – there are many bicycle rental companies in the area. You will also find many hosts, who have adapted themselves completely to the needs of bicycle tourists.
