There are many ingredients for the perfect road biking holiday: demanding passes that make your calves burn, rapid descents that pump adrenaline through your veins, smooth roads to pick up your speed. And, of course, relaxation and enjoyment are essential. Kufsteinerland offers you all of these ingredients (and a few more). We’ve created an irresistible racing menu with the seven routes in this collection and you will want to keep going back for seconds.
Since the summer of 2018, Kufstein has been a hotspot for racing cycling. As part of the UCI Road Cycling World Championship, four exciting races took place in the city center of the town. It’s also no coincidence that the World Cycling Federation awarded this region the contract for the most important event of the year. There are few places that offer such variety and the perfect combination of urban flair with idyllic river valleys, mountain lakes, and remote mountains far away from the hustle and bustle of city life - in Kufstein, you can discover all of this on a racing bike. Nothing beats cycling through the region’s Bavarian foothills of the Alps with their moderate climbs and challenging passes and seeing the magnificent Kitzbüheler Horn or the Zillertaler Höhenstraße with your own eyes. On days when you want to take it easy, you can cycle through the Inn Valley and enjoy the magnificent Alpine scenery from lower down.
The enjoyment continues even after you have finished cycling for the day: the delicious Tyrolean and Bavarian cuisine is part of every stay in Kuftsteinerland. Enjoy regional dishes made with love from local produce and spoil yourself in one of the cozy cafes with homemade cakes and hot coffee. At the end of an amazing day cycling, you can make yourself at home in your accommodation. Many hosts understand cyclists’ needs, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Spring tours are possible in Kufsteinerland from April onwards. You can also enjoy exciting events throughout the year which attract racing cyclists from all over the world:
23 April 2019 - Tour of the Alps
7th to 8th September 2019 - Kufsteinerland Bike Marathon season finale race
5th to 8th September 2019 - Road cycling camp in preparation for the Kufsteinerland Cycling Marathon
