Aline Hayoz-Andrey loves being close to nature and knows the flora and fauna around the lake and in Vanil Noir. She will take you on a very special tour where you will collect herbs such as oregano or stinging nettle on the lush shores of the Lac de Montsalvens. Afterwards she will walk with you through the species-rich nature reserve Vanil Noir with its unique climate in which numerous butterflies and a great variety of plants feel at home. At the Cabane des Marindes she will show you how to use the collected herbs to make delicious dishes.

The easy 10 kilometer hike takes you from Charmey around the Lac de Montsalvens and is ideal for families. The trail runs along the lake and sometimes at the height of the Monse, from where you can enjoy beautiful views of the lake. On a large part of the route, trees provide soothing shade, making the tour a pleasant experience even on hot days. On the way you can discover the diverse flora around the lake and pick fresh herbs, just like Aline Hayoz-Andrey likes to do. The environmental engineer and botanist loves the bond with nature and likes to show hikers what plants grow around the lake. If you want, Aline takes you to the nature reserve Vanil Noir and the Cabane des Marindes.The path through the nature reserve branches off from the loop around the Lac de Montsalvens. Depending on your mood, you can plan this trip in your hike. If the tour is too long for a day, you can plan an overnight stay at the Cabane des Marindes SAC Cabin. The hike up to 1,868 meters requires good condition and surefootedness. If you wander through the nature reserve Vanil Noir with Aline, it shows you the lush plant world, ranging from Mediterranean in the lower layers to Arctic in the higher elevations. But you are not allowed to pick herbs here in the nature reserve. 500 plant species and over 70 butterfly species have their safe home here. With a little luck you will see chamois and ibex on the way along the lush mountain meadows, the rugged rocks and edged Schratten.Once at the top of the hut, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding peaks from the terrace and, together with Aline, take a closer look at the herbs brought by the lake. In the medieval town of Estavayer-le-Lac begins the circular walk along the southern shore of Lake Neuchâtel. Here is the Grande Cariçaie - a riparian landscape with a nature reserve and the largest contiguous lake wetland in Switzerland, home to around 800 plant species and over 10,000 animal species.From Estavayer-le-Lac you walk directly into the nature reserve of Cheyres, which extends on the shores of the lake just outside the city. Here, only pedestrians and cyclists are allowed in and thus you enjoy a wonderful silence, which is only broken by the sounds of nature. After leaving the sanctuary, climb up to the villa quarter and follow a path through woods and meadows back towards Estavayer-le-Lac. In some places you can enjoy impressive views of the Grande Cariçaie and the Jura.Back in Estavayer-le-Lac you can end the day with a stroll through the pretty streets of the city or a stop at the numerous restaurants and cafes on the shores of the lake.

The walk on the Moléson begins at the funicular station Plan-Francey. From here you walk towards Gros-Plané. At the mountain lodge, the tradition of artisanal cheese-making continues and during a break you can fortify yourself with home-made specialties.From the hut, you then hike on to Alp Le Villard and then on to Chalet de Tremetta. On the pass, we continue along the crete of the Moléson and finally the last few meters up to the destination of the hike. At the summit of the Molésons you have an impressive view of the Alps, the Lake Geneva region and the Gruyère region from the observatory at the restaurant.Following your hike, the cable car will bring you back to Plan Francey.
The beautiful hiking trail leads you over the hill Vully and the winegrowing area. On the way you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Three Lakes, the Jura and the Alps as well as delicious regional specialties such as the wine or the famous Vully cake.It starts at the station Sugiez. From here you cross the Broye Channel and wander over a gentle vineyard. Overlooking Lake Murten, you will hike through the vineyards to the caves of Lamberta, which you can also visit. Continue towards Réduit du Vully and into a refreshingly cool forest landscape. Soon after you reach the highest point of the hike, the summit of Mont Vully. Up here you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama over the Three Lakes, the Jura and the Alps.From the summit, you descend again and start on the way back. On the way you can make a detour to the Sarrasin Tower. Then you walk back to the starting point with a view of Lake Murten through the vineyards.
This hike is all about glass art. In addition to the Vitromusée Romont, the Swiss Museum of Stained Glass, you can admire numerous well-preserved and artistically designed stained glass windows on the way.It starts at the Museum of Stained Glass, which is located in the castle of Romont. From here a staircase leads you down the hill to the river Glâne. Afterwards you will hike up to Mézières, where you can admire the modern windows of the church and visit the wallpaper museum. Through the forest you will arrive in the small village of La Neirigue, which lies on the same named Bach. From here you can make a short detour to the church of Grangettes-Près-Romont. Then you continue to the chapel Notre Dame de l'Epine in Berlens.On the way back to Romont you will enjoy a beautiful view of the village, which is surrounded by picturesque hills. Just before the finish you can admire the stained glass windows of Brian Clarke in the church of the Cistercian Abbey La Fille-Dieu. After a last ascent you are back at the starting point in Romont.
Through quiet forests and over picturesque Alps, this beautiful hike takes you from the Grand Chalet in Rossinière to the Auberge de la Croix de Fer in Allières. On the way you can enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding peaks: the Dent de Corjon, the Vanils and the Gummfluh.The hike starts in Rossinière at the station. From here you can take a short stroll through the village and admire the magnificent wooden buildings, such as the Grand Chalet. Then you walk out of the village past the Lac du Vernex, where you always have a nice view. You walk uphill through romantic forests. The higher you get, the more often the shady trees of the forest alternate with sun-drenched pastures. Halfway up and around the highest point of the hike you will reach Alp Corjon. From here you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the Dent de Corjon and the chain of Gummfluh.From now on, it goes downhill, through quiet forests and lush green pastures to Allières, which lies in a pretty valley. Here you can fortify yourself with traditional specialties at the end of the hike at Auberge de la Croix de Fer.
On the Riggisalp, where the chairlift takes you from Schwarzsee, the beautiful circular walk starts. The panoramic trail takes you right into the mountain arena between Charmey, Jaun and Schwarzsee. In easy up and down you wander through beautiful countryside and enjoys it again and again new prospects. Especially beautiful are the views of the Schwarzsee. Through the nature reserve Breccaschlund you pass impressive limestone walls, which jaggedly stand out from the green alpine pastures. Blooming alpine flowers, old dry stone walls and happy cows make the picture book panorama perfect.On the way you have many opportunities to take breaks and to strengthen you, because on the way are many cozy alpine huts. From delicious cheese dishes to delicious desserts you will be spoiled for all sorts. A nice break option just before the finish is the Alp Hubel Rippa with a magnificent view of the Schwarzsee. From here it is only 20 minutes to the destination of the hike on the shores of the lake.
The beautiful panoramic circular route starts above Les Paccots. Through a rustic forest you walk to the Lac des Joncs. The more than 5,000-year-old mountain lake is home to rare animal and plant species. If you are already hungry, you can take a break at the Hotel am See and enjoy some tasty food.Then the hike starts really, because the path now rises quite steeply. Over pastures and through the forest you wander through a picture-book landscape and can look from the higher elevations soon to Lake Geneva. At the foot of the Dent de Lys you hike to the mountain hut La Saleta at 1,499 meters altitude. From the terrace you can enjoy the grandiose panorama and the view of the Dent de Lys with a good meal and a cool drink.Then you hike across alpine meadows and forest trails back to the starting point in the valley.
