The glittering water of the lake, fragrant herbs on its shore, blooming mountain meadows with fluttering butterflies and rugged rocks on the way to the Cabane des Marindes await you on our hike around the Lac de Montsalvens and through the Vanil Noir nature reserve.

Aline Hayoz-Andrey loves being close to nature and knows the flora and fauna around the lake and in Vanil Noir. She will take you on a very special tour where you will collect herbs such as oregano or stinging nettle on the lush shores of the Lac de Montsalvens. Afterwards she will walk with you through the species-rich nature reserve Vanil Noir with its unique climate in which numerous butterflies and a great variety of plants feel at home. At the Cabane des Marindes she will show you how to use the collected herbs to make delicious dishes.

In addition to this hike around the Lac de Montsalvens, we have put together seven other experiences for you in Fribourg. The varied day hikes show you the most beautiful sides of the canton and take you along magnificent panoramic paths over panoramic peaks, through beautiful wine-growing areas and along picturesque lake shores. Whether you are looking for unforgettable views, culture or culinary delights, here in Fribourg you will find the perfect experience for you.
