Albstadt is located on the southern edge of the Swabian Alb, about halfway between Stuttgart and Lake Constance. Here the cosy charm of old half-timbered houses meets the contrasting nature of the Albtrauf. Steep climbs and rapid descents, narrow single trails through dense forests, open paths across the endless meadows of the Hochalb and rugged cliffs with panoramic views of the fairytale Hohenzollernburg castle — no wonder that mountain biking has a long tradition here and that every year bike pros and amateur cyclists pilgrimage to top-class bike events such as the Albstadt Bike Marathon and the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. But even if you're not so experienced, you'll find a beautiful mix of tradition, nature and challenging trails.
In this collection we present seven great tours around Albstadt. We have put together a beautiful mixture: You have the choice between easy, short tours to get used to or long, trail-heavy day trips. Beginners as well as advanced riders get their money's worth. A special highlight is the Bikepark Albstadt, where you can really have a blast on the downhill race track or improve your riding technique on the easier descents. Thanks to the lift, you can quickly return to the top after the descent, so that you can enjoy the pure downhill fun here.
For the tours you are excellently equipped with an all-mountain or enduro bike. Even in the bike park you can have fun with it — but if you prefer the suspension of a downhill bike, you can borrow one in the bike station.
Albstadt consists of the four districts Ebingen, Tailfingen, Onstmettingen and Pfeffingen. Ebingen is the largest part of town and the only one with a good rail connection - if you want to travel by train, Ebingen would be a good base camp. But there are also plenty of accommodations in the other parts of the city. Whatever you choose — enjoy an action-packed stay in this really multifaceted bike area in the south of Baden-Württemberg.
