On the approximately 40-kilometer bike ride to Deventer you will experience a colorful mix of beautiful nature and exciting culture. The National Park Sallandse Heuvelrug starts directly at the holiday park Landal Twenhaarsveld. You can explore the hilly park on great bike paths and inform yourself about the flora and fauna in the Museum Holterberg. After leaving the national park, the last blackhide retreat in the Netherlands, on a long descent, the rest of the route is completely level. Soon you will reach the idyllic Overijsselkanal and drive along its shore to Deventer. The former Hanseatic city on the banks of the IJssel was fought over and over again in the course of its more than 1200 years of history and last bombed in World War II. Nevertheless, the city center surrounded by a ditch is worth seeing with its narrow streets. The landmark of the city is, in addition to the spice and honey cake, the tower of the Great Church, from which you can enjoy a fabulous view. The half-hour train takes you back to the holiday park in just 15 minutes. Keep in mind that you can not take the bike on the train between 4pm and 6:30 pm.
