Rivers meandering for miles across the country, canals that cut across their paths, and wide moorlands with a mystical flair that are spanned by countless bridges. Whether made of wood, stone or steel, no two bridges are alike in this region — and every crossing is unique. And you can experience it all on the Brückenradweg (the bridge cycling path) as you cycle between Bremen and Osnabrück.

Separating these two cities is 180 miles (290 kilometers) of a mostly flat cycling track. The route is named after the many bridges that make the long-distance cycle path so characteristic. On the other hand, the name also symbolizes the connecting characteristic of this cycle path, which straddles Bremen and Osnabrück like a bridge.

We have divided the circuit into seven stages for you. You'll start in Bremen and cycle along the eastern part of the route to Osnabrück. On the west side, you'll return to Bremen. Of course, you can also only ride part of the cycle path or start in Osnabrück.

No matter what you decide, both cities are home to a large a train station that allows you to arrive comfortably by train. Due to the well-connected area, you can also catch the train to points along the ride. As far as accommodation is concerned, you can choose between hotels, guesthouses, holiday apartments and camping sites.
