The recipe to turn a simple mountain bike ride into a real adventure is simple. The ingredients: A weekend, a mountain hut and of course your bike. In the Alps, there is an almost infinite number of mountain huts that invite you to leave your everyday life behind and relax in the midst of wonderful nature. And all it takes is a short trip with one overnight stay to clear your head and to enjoy a real adventure.
Our rides are designed in such a way that a rather relaxed first day awaits you. This way you can arrive without stress, get warm and relax in the evening. On the second day, things get a little more serious with a several-hours-long day trip ahead of you. Both days are combined in one ride - everything can be done well over two days.
We have chosen all our rides so that they will take you to great places in the middle of nature, but they will never overtax you. You don't need to be a mountain specialist to get your money's worth and you don't need any special bikepacking equipment. We have chosen mountain huts that are fully equipped and offer everything you need for an overnight stay. Nevertheless, the cabins are rustic and partly equipped with simple but cosy mattress beds. Pure mountain adventures, but with an enjoyable and stress-free character so that you can fully enjoy your weekend.
Even if the adventure only lasts for two days, a little preparation is essential. After all, you are partly on the road in high Alpine terrain. Be sure to bring the essentials, such as weatherproof, warm clothing.
Alpine terrain also means that the season starts when the snow has melted. Most cabins open in April or May. It is especially important that you register with the huts so that you don't stand in front of closed doors. Also, ensure you take enough to drink and pack some snacks for the time in between meals. You will pass huts or snack stations again and again, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Now, that's enough planning. A wonderful, adventurous weekend in the mountains awaits!
Grab your seven things, grab your bike and off we go on an unforgettable two-day trip from Tegernsee in the middle of the northern Alps. It's all there: The beautiful Tegernsee, great trails, amazing views, breathtaking descents and an overnight stay in Rotwandhaus at 1737 meters altitude. You start relaxed. You do not have to get up early to get in - the first stage is manageable with almost 27 kilometers. It is enough, then, if you go to sleep after sleeping around noon. Arriving at your bivouac, not only a delicious dinner is waiting for you, but especially the sunset and a view of the mountains that you will never forget. On the second day of your short break in the Alps, a much longer bike tour is on the program. Today you can exhaust yourself on about 55 kilometers. But you have the whole day time and thus enough air to enjoy the great scenery and to pause for a snack on the Alm. Freshly strengthened, some great trails are waiting for you. The highlight is the "Bay SF Biketrail", an official mountain bike trail, which was built exclusively for bikers and is also only released for bikers.Back at the Tegernsee you will have plenty of cabbage steam. That's why our route leads you straight to the Tegernseer Bräustüberl - we wish you a good appetite!
For the luggage of this two-day tour, one thing is especially important: the swimming trunks. As many as six lakes have been installed, all waiting for you with the finest panorama and cool water. But one after anonther...Let's start at the Olympic Stadium in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with amazing views of the ski jumps and lots of parking - a practical and beautiful starting point for your tour. The first milestone is "Schachenhaus". This cozy cottage is located at 1866 meters altitude, Garmisch at 708 meters. Everything is there, you do not have to bring anything for the night, except a few change clothes. After the short warm-up stage, the next day is freshly strengthened to the point. How do you say so beautiful: First the work, then the pleasure. Where "work" can be fun - as in this case. Because you drive for two days through the middle of the beautiful Karwendel mountains north of Innsbruck and have a charming milestone in mind: The Karwendelhaus, where you set up your camp at 1765 meters altitude.Let's start in the beautiful Seefeld - start and finish of the tour are in the Olympic Seefeld. The ride starts gently and beautifully, briefly touches the Isar and then turns off into the Karwendel Valley. Now it is about 18 kilometers uphill. But you will almost forget it, because here it is just beautiful. Am Karwendelhaus already waiting for your cozy bed and breakfast (book in advance!) And the delicious dinner on you. After a quiet night in the mountains, the day starts directly with the funniest part of this tour. About 25 kilometers downhill - wow! Beautiful gravel paths alternate with narrow trails and again and again, the jaw will shut you down when you look into the valleys and ravines that open in front of you. You have enough time to stop and enjoy - we can highly recommend that. After the departure, the fun is not over yet. Back to Seefeld you follow now the course of the Isar, which shows itself here of their all, most beautiful side. Enjoy the view, the cool mountain water and the fact that there are no really steep climbs waiting for you.
The two small cities of Davos and Klosters provide the charming setting for this two-day tour of the extra class. After all, you are not somewhere but in the Swiss Alps - there may be something more exclusive. You can expect a luxury mountain lodge, star trails, magnificent uphills and gourmet downhills. Treat yourself to your deluxe alpine tour that you will not forget. You start in Davos and have a warm up in front of the chest to warm up. And when we say sporty, we mean that too: it's quite possible that you prefer to push your bike over short pieces. It's all so wild, after ten kilometers you've made it and you can enjoy the long, relaxed descent that spits you out right in front of your cuddly luxury domicile, the mountain inn Heimeli, in the middle of the mountains. The second day starts again with a strong climb over the Strela Pass up to the Weissfluhjoch - starting point for an impressive trail experience. From the breathtaking rock path into the main valley over single trails with panoramic views of the alpine world to the challenging bike roller coaster of the Gotschna freeride trail down to Klosters - just deluxe, we promised you.At Lake Davos you can cool down and regain your strength. And think about whether you will still be on top of it (including a vigorous uphill and a fantastic descent) or relaxed through the valley abkürzt and roll directly back to Davos.
Look forward to a rustic bike weekend with overnight in the hut, steep climbs, relaxed descents and flowing descents. Starting point of this tour is the East Tyrolean sun city of Lienz. From here it's a short and crisp up to the privately run Anna-Schutzhaus, which offers regional cuisine and a rustic sleep camp waiting for you and offers a great view of Lienz and the mountains. The next morning we go downhill. At least as far as the altitude is concerned. Because what follows is the reward for the evening climbing tour - about 1400 vertical meters spread distributed over more than ten kilometers. The biker's heart is laughing.Arrived at the bottom, a little rest is announced. The route follows the small river Drau and leads you to the Tristacher See. Do you want to have a bath? Maybe that's not a bad idea, so you're fresh for the second big rise of the round. From Leisach it is now uphill on the Hochstein. Once at the top there is a break in the Hochsteinhütte, before continuing on to the highlight of this tour. The Russenweg is a natural singletrack that brings you back to the center of Lienz.
On this two-day tour, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to stopping at the huts you pass along the route. For overnight we recommend the first. The Priener Hütte is at 1410 meters by far the highest hut and here you are well prepared for overnight guests. From the beautiful Prien am Chiemsee you crank up so for a while first - after about 30 kilometers, the well-deserved refreshment is waiting for you. Enjoy the view, the food and the rustic accommodation - a thoroughly down-to-earth mountain adventure. The next day is not that high. For a varied up and down waiting for you. Beautiful trails, moderate driveways and at regular intervals a beautiful mountain hut, where you can treat yourself to a little refreshment. A real highlight is waiting for you on the Samerberg. Here is the bike park of the same name with lift and a great track, which offers a variety of challenges for beginners and advanced. If you still have some power and enjoy the downhill ride, why not cycle up or enjoy a ride on the lift? Please pay tribute to the work of the bike park locals by leaving the 2 Euro for the use of the lovingly built route.Go on. On the way back a natural refreshment awaits you: Jump into the Prien, the small, short mountain river that flows directly into the Chiemsee and gave the starting point of this tour its name. Only a few miles away, then you have made it. Two days packed with beautiful impressions are behind you. An Alpine getaway that you will not eat.
Let's start at the station of Sonthofen, the county seat of the district of Oberallgäu, which has made the mark to become an exemplary "bicycle city". Accordingly, cyclists are welcome here - a nice starting point for this two-day tour.It starts for the first time quite leisurely along the river Iller, before it goes up short and crisp to the mountain inn Rohrmoos, where you are guaranteed to come to rest. Here you advertise after all, that you have no telephone or Internet connection. Since the good night's sleep is well-programmed.The next day, a varied mountain bike tour awaits you, which offers crisp climbs, leads you over relaxed mountain trails with panoramic views and through the world-famous winter sports resort of Oberstdorf with the impressive World Cup ski jump. The best is known to finish. After you have warmed up on a demanding singletrack, you can let it rip again in the bike park Hindelang. There you have the choice between different marked runs with different degrees of difficulty, so that optimal driving fun is guaranteed. The tour ends as it began. Completely relaxed. Only this time along the Starzlach, which leads you back to Sonthofen.
