Nordic forests, clear lakes, rocky archipelagoes and secluded sandy beaches await you on the North Sea Coast Cycle Path through Sweden. Breathtaking bridges, exciting cities and historical traces of warlike Vikings provide an exciting change of scenery in between.
The entire North Sea Coast Cycle Path is over 6,000 kilometers (3,700 miles) long and runs through Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain. In Sweden, 400 kilometers (248 miles) of cycle paths take you from the Norwegian border to Varberg on the Swedish coast. The route winds its way through Sweden's unique nature and passes through charming villages and large cities such as Gothenburg.
The starting point of the Swedish part of the North Sea Coast Cycle Path is in Halden, which lies just behind the Norwegian border; a starting point you can easily reach by train. If you come directly from the Norwegian part of the North Sea Coast Cycle Path, you can also skip Halden and continue directly onto the first Swedish section of the cycle path.
If the stages are too long for you and you'd prefer to cycle leisurely through Sweden, you can simply divide the day trips into two parts, because there are always small towns along the way which are suitable as stage destinations, as well as countless campsites along the route.
At the endpoint of the Tour in Varberg, you will have access to the ferry to Grenå in Denmark, where the North Sea Coast Cycle Path continues. If your journey ends here, you can also depart by train from Varberg.
