Hiking Collection by komoot
In spring, when the torrents swell with ice-cold meltwater and roar their way through the rock, they make for impressive spectacles for adventurers young and old. Hot summer days are the perfect time to seek out a cooling gorge hike very close to – and if necessary in – the water. This kind of hike makes the high temperatures so much more bearable. Secured walkways, bridges and platforms get you up close and personal with the torrents and the rock faces, while the forests provide the shade.
For thousands of years, streams have been carving their way further and further into the rock, forming small pools and intriguing formations. Depending on the time of day and season, the mood in the deep gorges change and so do the colours. No Tour is ever the same twice. Some gorges are short and easy to walk through, while others require surefootedness. We recommend that you bring a rain jacket and a rain cover for your rucksack, as a gorge walk can get very wet indeed. In this Collection, we have selected the most beautiful gorges and ravines in eastern Austria so that you can start hiking right away.

If a gorge deserves the description "wildly romantic", then it's the Ysperklamm. There are always small climbing aids such as stone steps, wooden steps and bridges.

The longest accessible gorge in Upper Austria leads through a wildly romantic rocky gorge over 1.5 kilometers and 500 steps. Nevertheless, the hike is classified as "easy" and well secured. At the end, a small waterfall falls just a few meters next to the ascent route. Incidentally, the gorge is named after the builder of the climb.
Open from May to the end of October, weekdays from 7.30am, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 7am.

A very beautiful gorge that can be easily combined with a detour to the Frauentor and thus results in a nice round.

Numerous small waterfalls, mossy stones, many types of ferns and interesting beetles or nimble fire salamanders - those who hike through this gorge are well advised to keep their eyes open. You climb a good 500 meters from the beginning to the end of the gorge, from the Spitzmühle in Schloßberg to Sveti Duh in Slovenia.

The Steinwandklamm is a top attraction in the Pernitz area. The Rudolf-Decker-Steig is recommended for experienced climbers. The level of difficulty is A/B, sure-footedness and a head for heights are essential (be careful with children!). The climb can also be bypassed. In the upper part of the gorge is the Türkenloch, the crossing of which crowns the adventure.

Hiking Highlight
The Myrabach rises from the so-called Myralucke of the Unterberg. After about eight kilometers he reaches the reservoir at the Karnerwirt. From there, the Myrabach becomes a raging body of water and plunges over rocks on various paths in 14 steps through the valley gorge between Hausstein and Hirschwände. After the Myrabach has fallen 520 meters in altitude, it reaches the lower reservoir at the "Myra Stubn" inn.
The Myra Falls are a place of water and a true source of strength for body and soul.

A beautiful gorge. Easy to walk at the beginning, the path gets steeper and steeper, but at the end a beautiful view makes up for it. I can only recommend.
