Fight against your weaker self! In this Collection, we have put together eight Tours that will give you a well-deserved evening out, without having to venture far outside the Ruhr area. Easily reachable by car or public transport, the trails are all relatively short and compact, meaning you can easily fit them into your evening program.
Representing the best mountain bike experiences the Ruhr area offers, these Tours combine it all: rustic, industrial aesthetics, guaranteed mountain bike action and—due to their location and length—are particularly suitable when time is at a premium. With great viewing points over the impressive relics left over from the region’s coal mining past, the occasional stop is heavily recommended, as well as indulging in the abundant opportunities to learn about the history of this metropolis.
Above all else, however, all of these Tours guarantee great trails and beautiful landscapes—at least when you are lucky enough to get out before sunset. If not, don’t fret: these short laps are also perfect in the dark, just be sure to come equipped with a helmet lamp.
The trails you’ll conquer in this Collection are very varied. Although there are a few technical descents waiting for you, there are no particularly difficult stages and, in case of doubt, you can simply cycle around any obstacles. If you’re a mountain biker that’s chasing those endurance highs, however, don’t worry, there is still something in these for you: Just pedal faster, pick up some serious speed and enjoy the turns and occasional jumps. After two hours, you will arrive back at your starting point with a smile on your face, happy that you made the most of your evening.

By car, you are in no time in the suspension railway city on the edge of Ruhrpott and Bergisches Land. You should leave this as fast as possible in the parking lot, which we have chosen as the starting point of this tour, because there are some highlights waiting for you.
