On the approximately 15-kilometer hiking trail you march through the villages Aufseß, Sachsendorf, Hochstahl and Heckenhof; including breweries included!Since this round trip returns to the starting point, you can also start at any location on the route. Special highlights are the castle in Oberaufseß, the brewery Stadter in Sachsendorf and the brewery restaurant Reichold, which you reach after about five kilometers well-developed and very well signposted trail.After a tasty barley juice, head towards Heckenhof, where the next brewery is waiting for you: the popular Kathi-Bräu. From the Kathi it goes mostly downhill to Aufseß. At the destination there you can round off the hike at the brewery Rothenbach.

The Walberla is the northern summit of the Ehrenbürg (532m) and one of the most famous peaks in the Franconian Switzerland. A trip to Walberla followed by a visit to one of the popular Franconian local breweries - Wandererherz, what more could you want. A special highlight is the Ehrenbürg and, of course, the Gastwirtschaft Alt, which brews lager Lager and dark Vollbier in family tradition until today.
The Certified Five Seidla Trail is a hike made for beer lovers. On the well signposted route, your hike will pass five breweries in the region around Gräfenberg. This tour is mostly on the official route, but has been cut a bit. Nevertheless, you will pass every brewery that caters hungry hikers with a tasty snack, good Franconian food and, of course, home-brewed beer.
In Bamberg, my beer "drinks" on the cellar. Why? To cool the freshly brewed beers, a long time ago, cellars were drifted into the adjacent sandstone. For practical reasons, the cool drink was then sold directly above these cellars, where often was a beautiful garden with mature trees - "on" the basement is called so in the beer garden.

Start is in the Weiglathal, where, starting from the brewery Übelhack, the way leads to about three kilometers through the Lindenhardter forest to Lindenhardt. From the brewery Kürzdörfer in Lindenhardt the way leads you to Leups. Again, you will not die of thirst, because the next brewery is already waiting for you: Gradl. Well-fortified, the trail continues along the valley to Büchenbach, where the brewery Herold is the last brewery on the way. So strengthen well before you start the last section back to Weiglathal.
This brewery and beer hike leads around Bad Staffelstein, which has ten breweries in the city with just over 10,000 inhabitants. Every year on 15 August, the Bierbrauerfest is celebrated on the market square in Bad Staffelstein with a big beer festival. But you do not have to wait for that.
