Getting up early is definitely worth it: experience a breathtaking and atmospheric sunrise in the Carnic Alps at the summit of the Gartnerkofel (2,195 m) when the sun dips the surrounding mountains in a golden shimmering light. To make sure you do not miss out on this unforgettable experience, you'll have to jump out of bed soon: in the dark of the night, you'll start a good 2-hour hike towards the summit cross of the Gartnerkofel. From the Garnitzerthörl, where you can see the light of Luschari in the Julian Alps, continue towards the Bergkofelbahn mountain station. After a short break you probably already see the first dawn, which gently colors the sky. After just under 1.5 hours walking time you reach the summit. In addition to a mountain salvation and a drink from the bottle is not much time. Retrieve the camera from the bag and aim the eyes and lens at the reddish colored sky. Always a special experience!Continue to the Watschiger Alm, where you can reward yourself with freshly smelling coffee and a hearty alpine breakfast. So early and already experienced so much. Have fun!

If you follow the Carnic High Trail from Silian to Arnoldstein, you will be rewarded with a wonderful mountain world, splendid panoramas and excellent hut experiences and can thus recharge your batteries for everyday life. You can always avoid difficult passages, which makes this popular path accessible to almost all hikers. Much of the way is on the border between Austria and Italy. Here was the front of the mountain war during the First World War. Numerous eyewitnesses in the form of positions and summit barracks point to this today. Therefore, this path is also called "Via della Pace" - Path of Peace. What a luck to be able to walk here free and in peace today.Of course, the Karnische Höhenweg can also be done in the opposite direction, with the gentler part as the beginning and the high alpine part as the conclusion.By the way, you can find the complete mountain trail here: komoot.de/collection/391/via-della-pace-der-karnische-hoehenweg

Stage 3 of the Gailtaler Höhenweg is probably the most fascinating but also a very long stage of the high altitude hike. It takes you across the Gailtal Alps with a magnificent view of the Gailtal and Weissensee as well as the Carnic and Julian Alps. You start the first section from Weißbriach after lunch to the Naggler Alm, which you reach after about 9 km. Hopefully, we will continue our journey via the Ochsenalm to the Kohlröslhütte. It is advisable to take the opportunity to stop by, because you can expect a juicy climb to the top gel, 2119 m, which is only feasible for experienced, sure-footed and vertigo-free mountain hikers. The last part will take you more comfortably down forest tracks downhill to the Windischer Höhe. Conclusion: Although the Gailtaler Höhenweg is not as well known as the Karnische Höhenweg, it is in no way inferior to the latter.

At 2,145 meters, the Mitterskogel is one of the highest mountains in the western Karawanken. There are several ways to reach the 2,000m peak. The variant shown in this tour is the normal route that passes by the Bertahütte. At 1,567 meters, it is the only refuge on the way to the summit and therefore an ideal stopover before climbing into the high alpine terrain. Homemade specialties from pork roast, cheese and meat noodles to apple strudel await you and provide you with enough power for the next few hours.Continue on the "King of the Karavanke". The Mittagskogel (Slovene: Kepa) combines on its summit ridge the countries Austria and Slovenia and of course boundless wonderful views, for which the climb is definitely worthwhile. If the mountain looks very rocky and rugged as seen from Lake Faak, the Slovenian side is a bit gentler with its vegetation. From afar, you will see the distinctive silver shiny cross on the summit. Special tip: If you start early enough, you can expect an unforgotten sunrise at the summit.

The Wörthersee circular walk with its 55 km is the ideal long-distance trail for those hungry for discovery: Shady forest sections, demanding passages with single trails and viewpoints over the lake. Boarding possibilities and connections to the Wörthersee shipping - starting from all important Wörthersee locations - offer to get to know the lake from many points of view. If you want to spend more time exploring and relaxing, you can hike in 3 or 4 stages. The great thing about it: at the finish not only your own luggage but also a hearty snack and refreshing drinks. The "explorer tour" optionally:

The "way of love. Sentiero dell'Amore "leads you and your better half from the Alexander hut over the pastures of the Millstätter Alpe to the Granattor. On the Bike and Hike route, you can ride your bike or walk. Thereby you will be asked questions about love on the way. "What's the craziest thing you've ever done out of love?" - This question leads over to 7 places of togetherness, inviting to write down the common thoughts. Get to the bottom of the uniqueness of the partnership step by step. In seven stations, the path of love, Sentiero dell'Amore, leads up to the Granattor. At each station there is a Millstätter See bench that invites you to rest, and next to it a reading table with a book containing thoughts on love. In the seven books - each full of aphorisms, poems, short stories, quotes and anecdotes from world literature - you can write down your own thoughts. The path is participatory and the hikers contribute to the history of the path. On the hiking trail, it is possible to relax together on seven very beautiful boxes on a wooden bench. Read each other the most beautiful anecdotes from the books that are laid out there. A suitable place to kneel and swear eternal fidelity. Not only for romantics!

The H2öhenweg offers a water experience for the whole family. Start is the excellent Schwaigerhütte, from which it is half an hour's walk to Alexander hut. From here, a unique panorama awaits you with views of Lake Millstatt embedded in the surrounding mountain landscape. The dessert you earned after another half hour at the Millstätter hut. On this section many water sources and the well-known Nockdrache are waiting for you; a water-spouting dragon as you've probably seen it. Back to Schwaigerhütte. Have fun!

Many roads lead to Rome. Just like the Pyramidenkogel. This eventful tour combines a boat trip across the lake with the shady hiking trails of Maria Wörth or Reifnitz up to the summit. Also on the ship you can already experience a lot. Past showpieces of the Wörthersee architecture and untouched nature reserves, you can quickly reach the Maria Wörth peninsula or the bay of Reifnitz. Well signposted, over the Wörthersee circular route, lead various ways to the world's highest wooden observation tower. The box seat of the Wörthersee, so to speak. Breathtakingly, the tower screws into the sky and shows what wood is for a fantastic material. If you dare, you'll whiz down the 120m long slide from the tower. Have fun!Services included:
    - 4 nights in *** incl. All basic services of the new Wörthersee PLUS Card
    - the handy Wörthersee hiking guide
    - the Wörthersee hiking map
    - the traveling wave brochure with three predefined shipwalking tours

The nature park Dobratsch has everything to offer what the hiker's heart desires. In the 7,250 hectare area you have the choice of a variety of viewpoints, beautiful sunsets and unique restaurants. The whole in landscape, nature and European protection areas, which contribute to the protection of the quality of life and a lasting handling with the nature. Hiking is fun! It's best to start at the tollbooth and head to the Rosstratte car park, which you can reach after about 16.5 km from the toll road after several informative stopovers. Particularly recommended is the lovingly maintained Alpine garden with over 900 alpine plants at the parking lot 5 and the Skywalk at the parking lot 6 directly at the Villach Alpine Road. If you are particularly brave, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Julian Alps and the Arnoldstein.Actual start of the hike is the parking lot at the Aichingerhütte. After a short march, you will reach the Dobratsch Nature Park, with its diverse flora and fauna. If you are already hungry and thirsty, the Rosstratten Stüberl offers. The landlord Andrea Riedler focuses her culinary focus on typical regional food from mostly own production. You can also taste it, because you get the Kärntner Kasnocken here as they could not be better. Continue on a contemplative hiking trail uphill to the viewing platform Gams- and Gipfelblick. With a bit of luck, you'll catch a glimpse of the region's wildlife, such as alpine swifts, grouse or even a golden eagle. I wish you success!

The Gerlitzen Kostaleweg hike offers sporting as well as culinary highlights: namely from the beginning to the end. Kostale is Carinthian and can be compared with Spanish tapas. You will be served small delicacies that will give you the taste of the region without complaining. The start of this hike is the Berg- und Almmuseum Gerlitzen. Afterwards you can either walk or, more conveniently, take the pulpit railway from the valley station to the middle station. Start is the Pöllinger hut, as the first culinary rest stop. In the attached Almmuseum you can expect a time travel to the mountain farming world of yesteryear. You will get an introduction to the techniques of dairy farming, cheese making and the production of flax and linen from an earlier century. After that, you earned Kostale # 1. Carinthian cheese noodles will probably give you enough energy for the next hour. Once you reach the Neugarten Almseehütte. The cows and alpine oxen in the pasture reveal what food and drink there is here. They are the first "living menu". Colored with natural color, they advertise for buttermilk, apple strudel or brandy. With a fantastic location directly on the Almsee, the hut also offers the opportunity for a short cooling off. Here you will get Kostale Nr. 2, an alpine steak, served. About 45 minutes later the sweet dessert awaits you in the summit house. Since its opening in 1934, the Berggasthof has ranked among the most beautiful excursion and sightseeing restaurants in Carinthia. With panorama weather you look here up to the Grossglockner. To return to the valley, you can either opt for a final digestive walk in the direction of the middle station or you can take the Kostale-Genusswanderer way of thinking - the chairlift back to the middle station. Let it be well with you!

During this hike, enjoyment of the view is perfectly staged with physical enjoyment. From the Hochobir, one of the most beautiful mountains in Carinthia, you have a wonderful view of the Klagenfurt Basin and the Lower Carinthian Lake District.
You can easily reach the fully paved toll road - the Hochobir alpine road to the "Eisenkappler Hütte" (1555m). From there you can enjoy a magnificent view into the Steiner Alps and Karawanken.
What makes this hike so special is of course the goal! Because of the rare alpine flora and the magnificent distant view, which in clear weather reaches as far as the Grossglockner and the Tauern glaciers, all efforts seem like forgotten.
