From June 2017, this region invites you to spend the night in one of seven bivouacs, in order to be even more close to nature. On the waterside, where the waves of Lake Millstatt touch the shore, in the lush green of a forest light or high up on a fragrant alpine meadow: on extraordinary places on the lake and on the mountain, these bivouacs offer a perfect retreat. Wild and romantic sunsets included.

Warm water, green and juicy alpine alps, pleasurable variety and historic ambience. You will experience all this on Lake Millstatt: where the route becomes the destination.

In the footsteps of love: Once upon a time, the couples strolled along the lake during the summer holiday, today the lake is circumnavigated by e-bike or bicycle. From the south bank you have the perfect view of the villas with their bay windows and turrets from the Fin de Siècle attention, in which the members of the "good company" once enjoyed the warm summer months. This lake tour takes you on 29 km once around the entire Millstätter See. Experienced cyclists make the journey in two hours - and miss out on much of what makes Lake Millstatt. If you take your time, you will be well rewarded. Noteworthy are the secretive bays, historic villas and lakeside terraces right on the water ... countless special features are located on the Millstätter See cycle path. A destination on the natural shore path is the bank in the lake. From the bike path it is only a few steps to a footbridge made of rocks, gently bathed by the waves of Lake Millstätter See. Cyclists can use these stones to reach the bank in Lake Millstatt, which is anchored a few meters from the mainland. This place, as well as numerous hidden bays on the south bank, invite you to a picnic. In Seeboden, the cycle path leads along the lake promenade past magnificent and flourishing parks and numerous restaurants.
