Tours & Highlights

  • Bayern – Walchensee

    Bike Touring Highlight

Nice, beautiful, Walchensee. Here in Bavaria you will find one of the largest alpine lakes in Germany. Turquoise-green, surrounded by wooded mountains, a true natural spectacle. The water here is up to 190 meters deep and, seen from a geological point of view, the lake is also one of the oldest waters in Germany. As befits a mountain lake, the water here is so fresh that you can drink it without hesitation. Around the water are natural pebble beaches, shallow riparian zones and quiet moorings. Even surfers and sailors use the wind blowing over the lake in summer. And many wrecks in the depth and a visibility of up to 40 meters attract many divers. Those who are not in the mood for water can hike around the lake and climb the adjoining peaks.
