While some like to snuggle under a blanket with a mug of hot chocolate in autumn, others prefer to walk under a golden canopy of trees. This Collection of 10 beautiful autumn walks is for the latter.

These walks are dotted throughout the Netherlands and vary in distance and theme. On some routes you’ll walk mainly among colourful beech or oak trees, while on others you’ll enjoy the lovely pine scent of green conifers. Where one walk combines dense forests with heathland and sandy plains, another leads down beech-lined avenues and past majestic country estates.

Red, orange and golden leaves are not the only feature of autumn. The season is also characterised by red hawthorn berries, orange buckthorn berries and a wide variety of mushrooms. You'll encounter all facets of autumn in this Collection.

With the exception of the Tour at De Vuursche, all Tours are circular walks. Usually the start point is easily accessible by public transport and there’s always parking nearby. There are often catering facilities near the routes, but always take enough food and drink in your rucksack to be sure.

Finally, be prepared for the changeable weather of autumn. Dress warmly, bring a waterproof jacket and waterproof walking shoes as the ground can be quite boggy and muddy.
