From the picturesque Altmühltal and the summit-lined Fichtelgebirge to the Franconian Lake District and the idyllic Haßberge to Franconian Switzerland, our VGN leisure tips take you deep into nature and away from the hustle and bustle.
In this Collection, you'll find six varied Tours. If you have kids who love the outdoors, take them to the exciting gorges and lakes around Lake Brombach. Don't forget your swimsuit for the wonderful sandy beaches! You'll find lots of half-timbered charm with gorgeous vineyards and fruit tree meadows around the Haßberge, which is still an insider tip. It's best to bring a torch for the Wiesenttaler Trail Tour, as there are some enchanting caves waiting for you to take a closer look. If you like climbing, consider summit hopping in the Fichtelgebirge – the views are magnificent.
The Altmühltal-Panorama and Thalachtal-Romantik route is a two-part adventure. You dive deep into history – all the way back to the Stone Age – and learn a lot about the Celts and Bavarians. There’s no shortage of fantastic views from impressive castle ruins and vantage points.
You can easily access all Tours with VGN buses and trains. Leave your car at home because all the start and finish points are well connected by public transport.
