If you listen to Leverkusen and Wuppertal, you could think directly about gray industrial cities. However, the Wupperweg proves that both cities have much more to offer and their surroundings are in the middle of nature. As a long-distance route of 123 km, it leads on a total of 12 stages in the middle of the Bergische Land, from the Wuppertal estuary in Leverkusen via Wuppertal to the source in Marienheide.
Here we introduce the gentle part, those 6 stages from the mouth to Wuppertal before it goes into the more challenging Bergische Land. They are designed in such a way that they can be done well in half a day. Far away from city hectic and traffic noise, one runs completely relaxed through the nature, again and again along the rippling Wupper.
