On the Westerwald’s Wäller Tours, you'll get to know the region between the Rhine, Lahn, Dill and Sieg like the back of your hand. You'll climb the heights of the Westerwald, hike under the protection of the mighty treetops, discover unique historical sites, and marvel at the majestic rock formations of the basalt region.

The Wäller Tours take their name from the Westerwald hiking greeting "Hui, Wäller!", where Wäller stands for Westerwälder. The varied Tours range in length from 9 to 22 kilometres (5.6 to 13.6 mi), so you can pick a Tour that suits your fitness level and hike away.

A short excursion to the exciting basalt formations near the River Wied, a break in the middle of the enchanted Sporkenburg ruins, or a two-day hiking adventure on the Greifenstein loop: each Wäller Tour has its own characteristics and shows you the regional peculiarities of the Westerwald.

You don't have to worry about getting there and back as the Wäller tours are loops that start and end at car parks, bus stops or train stations. The Greifenstein loop, the only Wäller Tour that takes two days to complete, can also be reached by public transport. You can plan your journey via Herborn railway station, which you can also reach by bus from Rehe after the second stage.

Do you already have one of the Wäller Tours in mind? Then get going. Look forward to the excellent hiking trails of the Westerwald, which will take you right into the heart of the low mountain range.
