A folding bike let’s you spontaneously and comfortably leave your city. These varied Tours explore the urban surroundings of Graz on your folding bike. You can take your folding bike with you on the train free of charge and start cycling directly from the station. With our ÖBB Fold & Ride routes, we’ve also made sure all climbs are easily manageable on a folding bike – with or without an electric motor.

Graz, the capital of Styria in the heart of Austria, offers historical sights, cultural highlights and a vibrant culinary scene. The city and its surroundings are a true paradise for cycling enthusiasts – you’ll find both a well-developed network of cycle paths and a breathtaking landscape. This makes Graz and its surroundings perfect for exploring on two wheels.

The Mur Cycle Path winds through the city and along the river. It’s one of the most popular cycle paths in and around Graz and offers a picturesque backdrop for a relaxing bike Tour. Along the way, you'll find historical buildings, modern architecture and green parks. You don't have to ride for a whole day as you’ll find plenty of culture, architecture and green oases on shorter Tours too, such as the Old Town Ring, the Ragnitz and Leonhard Brooks or on a trip to the Hilmteich.

A good network of cycle paths and the cultural and scenic diversity make the region a perfect cycling destination. With your folding bike, you’ll explore urban centres and rural landscapes.

Since March 2023, you can enjoy a €600 subsidy when you purchase an (e-)folding bike in Austria. The bike’s dimensions should be no more than 110 x 80 x 40 cm and you must have an annual public transport pass. You can find more information (in German) at bmk.gv.at/service/presse/gewessler/20230228_eFahrradfoerderung.html.

Before you set off, check for any planned construction work that may interrupt your journey. You can find information at oebb.at/en/fahrplan/baustelleninformation or in our Scotty app. For more information on travelling with your bike, bike tickets and long-distance reservations see: oebb.at/en/reiseplanung-services/im-zug/fahrradmitnahme. We recommend avoiding rush hour for the most relaxing journey.

The historic old town of Graz has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. The baroque buildings, mansions and churches, and the roofscape over the winding streets have contributed to this decision. One of the reasons for this are the historical green oases that can be found in Graz. In addition
