Each of Berlin’s districts is wonderful, lovable, quirky, unfamiliar, and yet familiar at the same time. In this Collection, we'll introduce you to 12 Berlin districts with a variety of hikes. Each district is unique and has so much to offer. In a mix of the familiar and unexpected, we'll take you to old, almost forgotten places, to Charlottenburg's Chinatown, to water towers, and to market halls. And yes, the Brandenburg Gate, the Red City Hall, and Charlottenburg Palace are included too. It's the mix that matters. This is Berlin.

We'll also get you to the adventures. For nearly 100 years, we've been travelling through Berlin and Brandenburg, welcoming everyone on board. We love the diversity of Berlin and the people who live here.

All starting points for the hikes are accessible by the S-Bahn and – in one case – by regional train. In the Tour descriptions, we've included the connections and schedules for you to quickly get an overview.

And now, we wish you a lot of fun exploring the 12 districts.

The district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, separated for a long time by the inner-German border, is one of the most densely populated districts of Berlin. The building principle of the Gründerzeit pursued the greatest possible building density and you can still see many of these houses with several backyards

Reinickendorf, located in the north-west of Berlin, is characterized by forests and bodies of water. Here you can hike wonderfully in the Tegel Forest or on the Tegeler Fliess. But the settlement structure and the development in the shadow of the wall are also worth a second look. We will therefore take

Who hasn't heard of the Red Town Hall, the Brandenburg Gate or the Reichstag? These and many other historic buildings, newly created quarters or simply the changes since the last visit represent the history of Berlin like no other and in a very small space.

Lichtenberg is a sprawling district in East Berlin. It is not only known for its beautiful and extensive animal park or the exotic Vietnamese "exclave" Dong Xuan Center. Rather, the district is home to two of the most important memorials to our recent past: the Stasi Museum and the Hohenschönhausen Memorial

But the busy streets and squares around Kantstraße, the constantly changing Stuttgarter
