A true robbery tour is this nearly 150-kilometer round through the Spessart. We have installed two prominent places where the bad guys used to mischief. On the one hand there is the "donkey path", over which the donkey caravans once brought salt from Bad Orb to Miltenberg. If they have not been robbed before. On the other hand there would be the "real manor": Where today is a cozy forester's lodge, according to legend, once found the brothers Echter, their name robber knight, refuge. They tied their horses to a stake and gave this place its name.Apart from the whole robbery, this tour is really nice. In particular, the drive through the nature reserve Hafenlohrtal is pure pleasure with the racing bike. Many climbs - sometimes short, sometimes long - make sure that you can really work out. Once at the top there are always great views of the beautiful landscape of the Spessart waiting for you.

Typical Spessart. This is this tour. With a good 80 kilometers, it is not so long, yet many short and especially a long climb challenge you. The ascent to Geishöhe is one of the longest in Spessart. Once at the top you can enjoy the wonderful view, which you can improve by the way, by climbing onto the Ludwig Keller tower.Spessart is also the cultural highlight of the tour. The moated castle Mespelbrunn is a real eye-catcher and a good reason for a little detour to the road bike. In the Café Pferdestall you can refresh yourself and enjoy the great scenery that was once the filming location of the well-known movie "Wirthaus im Spessart".
On its way from the Fichtelgebirge to its mouth in the Rhine near Mainz, the Main performs many characteristic changes of direction. Thanks to many loops and bows, it brings it to 527 kilometers in length, making it the longest tributary of the Rhine. In such a "loop" the Main winds around the Spessart. However, you drive through the middle of this tour and connect in this way the Main at Aschaffenburg with the Main at Marktheidenfeld. While the river has sought the easy route around it, our route takes you directly over the highest peak of the Spessart. "Short and crisp" - that's good for the character of this tour. And wonderfully quiet: Above all, the traffic-free, idyllic Hafenlohrtal is a dream with the road bike.
At 153 kilometers, this tour is quite long, except for a crisp rise, but it runs largely flat, so it is well feasible despite their length. Its low profile owes this classic to the fact that, after you first crossed the Spessart over the stallion's head, it follows the course of the Main. The four cities of Aschaffenburg, Lohr, Wertheim and Miltenberg form the "Mainviereck" and ensure that you will find plenty of cultural and culinary highlights along the way. So you can follow in the footsteps of Schnewittchen, marvel at picturesque old towns, refresh yourself in the oldest inn in Germany and treat yourself to a delicious wine spritzer towards the end of the tour - with a view of the associated vineyard. A real pleasure trip in every way!
