Imagine a region in Belgium where you can find everything for a wonderful hiking weekend. A region that’s home to Europe’s oldest thermal city, where historic buildings and beautiful views abound and where the Amel, Warche and Salm rivers have carved the valleys of the Ardennes. With plenty of swimming lakes and culture on the way, what more could you want?

This region is Wallonia in the south of Belgium. Here, nature, culture and French savoir-vivre go hand in hand. During a hiking weekend in the Ardennes, you discover a rich variety of beautiful and interesting highlights. Extensive forests and moors, healing springs, historic abbeys, crystal-clear mountain rivers, many viewpoints and places to stop for refreshments.

The Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure in the west of Wallonia offer completely different impressions. After walking around the lakes, you can plunge straight into the cool water. If you're in the mood for culture, don't miss the city of Mons. On the same weekend, you can hike through breathtaking landscapes in the nearby Hauts Pays Nature Park.

In this hiking Collection, we’ve put together seven Tours for short trips in Belgium that inspire you to enjoy the unspoilt nature and the wide views with your own eyes. Visit Wallonia this weekend and experience it for yourself. After all, its beauty is so close.
