Flowering orchards, steep vineyards, wide views: the Fruit Trail (Früchtetrauf) at the edge of the Swabian Alb offers all of this. Undoubtedly, the best way to experience it’s on foot. In this Collection, we’ve put together ten premium hiking trails that allow you to get active and enjoy yourself. Between the Schönbuch Nature Park in the north and the Albtrauf in the south, there’s plenty for you and your family to see, smell and taste.

The wooded heights, sun-drenched vineyards and romantic river valleys are a glorious experience at any time of year. In spring, the flowering orchards add an extra touch of colour and beauty. Picturesque villages, castles and museums provide the culture hit. Plus, with the regional specialities of Swabian cuisine and its first-class wines, no culinary wishes are left unfulfilled.

The hikes on the Fruit Trail have one thing in common: they’ve been designated as premium hiking trails and guarantee you lots of hiking fun. There’s something for everyone; all you have to do is choose the right route depending on your time and mood, from an extended hike to a relaxed amble. All the Tours are loops and you can reach them easily by public transport.

Do you want to discover more of the region after your adventures? Then a visit to Tübingen, for example, is worthwhile. Here, you can book a punting trip on the Neckar and stroll through the idyllic old town alleys. If you're travelling with the whole family, then the fruit growing information centre in Mössingen is a great option. The innovative experience and information centre offers an experience-oriented and child-friendly approach to all things orchards.

Feel the sun on your face in the Swabian Alb and enjoy nature at its diverse best.
