Your backpack is ready and you're finally heading out again. Micro-adventures can be great and are closer than you think. You’ll find lots of exciting hikes in the Netherlands, from weekends spent exploring the forest to an excursion with the family to marvellous flowering moors. No matter the route, hiking in the Netherlands is never boring.
We want to discover the Dutch national parks together with you. In this Collection, we’ve put together walks of between five and ten kilometres (3 and 6 mi) that quickly take you out into unspoilt and beautiful natural landscapes.
Walk the paths along the coast of the Walcheren Peninsula and go exploring in the forest north of The Hague. Follow winding paths through the swampy Bekendelle primeval forest, ascend and see sweeping views of sparkling waters in the Lauwersmeer National Park and amble through colourful heaths, rustling beech forests and sandy dune landscapes. Are your feet tingling as much as ours?
Then get going! Even if you never cover more than 10 kilometres (6 mi) on these Tours, you need the right backpack. Water, snacks, waterproofs, an emergency kit and perhaps a good book or your camera are all essential items.
We recommend our Futura, AC Lite or Speed Lite backpacks so that you can carry everything comfortably and efficiently, regardless of whether you're heading out for a short walk after work or a weekend trip to the countryside with your friends.
Have you ever spent the night in the middle of the forest to start the next day with a foray into nature? In the Drentsche Aa National Park you have several options for this. For a micro-adventure you can rent a cabin in the heart of the forest (cabiner.com/drentsche-aa ) or stay overnight with a camper…
